Led by the Coast’s only Certified Canine Behaviour Consultant, Cert IV qualified Animal Trainer, Fear Free Certified Professional and Family Dog Mediator, our work is grounded in ethical, science-based training and years of hands-on experience supporting dogs through every stage of life.

Every session is thoughtfully tailored to your dog, your home and your goals. We take the time to understand the whole picture so that the support you receive truly fits your family. Our goal is to help you better understand your dog, build connection together and create lasting change that sets your whole family up to thrive. Because our approach isn’t just about teaching cues, it’s about strengthening the bond between you and your dog for years to come!

By submitting this form and booking a private session or home visit, I confirm that all information provided is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and that I have disclosed any relevant behavioural, medical, or safety information that may impact my dog’s participation or handling.

For home visit appointments, I acknowledge that the safety of all people and animals is paramount. I agree that all dogs on the property must be safely secured prior to the trainer’s arrival. This means all dogs must either be securely on lead and under the control of a responsible adult or safely contained behind a secure physical barrier such as a closed door, baby gate, crate or securely fenced area until instructed otherwise by the trainer.

I also agree to advise A Bark Above Dog Training & Behaviour of any property access or arrival requirements via text message prior to the appointment. This includes (but is not limited to) whether the trainer should knock on the door, text upon arrival, use a particular gate or entrance, or follow any other arrival instructions necessary for the safe management of the dog(s).

I understand that these arrival procedures form part of my booking agreement. Where a trainer reasonably believes that entry to the property presents an unacceptable safety risk, or where the agreed arrival instructions or restraint requirements have not been followed, A Bark Above Dog Training & Behaviour reserves the right to suspend, modify or terminate the session without entering the property. Where a session cannot safely proceed due to these circumstances, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation or no-show, and the applicable fees, package adjustments or forfeitures outlined in this policy may apply. The trainer’s assessment of safety on arrival is final.

I further acknowledge and agree to comply with all cancellation, late arrival, no-show, scheduling, fee and package adjustment conditions as outlined by A Bark Above Dog Training & Behaviour. I understand that late cancellations or missed appointments may result in forfeiture of the session, modified service delivery or applicable fees and credit adjustments.

I acknowledge that full terms, expectations and responsibilities are outlined below in the Cancellation, Late Arrival & No-Show Policy and agree to be bound by those policies.

Private Session & Home Visit Cancellation, Late Arrival & No-Show Policy

At A Bark Above Dog Training & Behaviour, your appointment time is reserved especially for you. Deposits or full payment are required to secure your session time and must be paid within 24 hours of the confirmation message. Late cancellations, missed appointments and late arrivals impact our ability to support other clients and maintain the flow of our schedule. To help keep our schedule fair and accessible, the following policy applies.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

72+ hours’ notice
No cancellation fee applies.

24–48 hours’ notice
A fee equal to 50% of the session value will apply.

Less than 24 hours’ notice or non-attendance (No-Show)
The full session fee will be charged.

Refunds are not generally provided. Any fees paid will be held as a credit and transferred to a future appointment where applicable (up to three occasions), subject to the conditions below. Refunds may only be considered in exceptional circumstances, including serious family emergency, veterinary emergency or death. All refund requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis, and supporting evidence may be requested. Approval remains at the sole discretion of A Bark Above Dog Training & Behaviour.

Late Starts

If A Bark Above Dog Training & Behaviour is unable to safely access the property within 15 minutes of arrival due to dogs not being appropriately restrained, failure to follow agreed arrival instructions, or any other safety concern, the trainer reserves the right to leave the property. The appointment will be treated as a no-show, and the applicable fees or package adjustments will apply.

If a session proceeds following a late start, it will still conclude at the originally scheduled finish time and cannot be extended.

No-Show Fee & Package Adjustments

A no-show significantly impacts our ability to support other clients. For this reason, the following applies:

For a single no-show, 50% of the total paid session value will be deducted from your package or booking credit.

A three-session package (3 × 60 minutes) will convert to one 60-minute session and one 30-minute session remaining.
A two-session package will be reduced to one remaining session.
A single session will be cancelled.

Two no-shows will result in the forfeiture of any remaining booked sessions or credits. Any future bookings will require a new booking process.

These policies exist to ensure fairness, maintain appointment availability for other clients and support the sustainability of our small business. We genuinely appreciate your understanding and respect for the time, preparation and personalised care that goes into every appointment.

If deposits or full payment are not received within 24 hours of booking confirmation, the booking may be released without further notice.

By booking an appointment with A Bark Above Dog Training & Behaviour, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to the Home Visit Safety Requirements, Cancellation, Late Arrival & No-Show Policy outlined above.

You authorise A Bark Above Dog Training & Behaviour to apply any applicable cancellation fees, no-show charges, package adjustments or forfeitures in accordance with this policy.

You understand that failure to comply with the Home Visit Safety Requirements, including ensuring your dog(s) are appropriately secured and that agreed arrival instructions are followed, may result in the session being suspended or terminated without entry to the property and may be treated as a late cancellation or no-show.

This policy forms part of your service agreement with A Bark Above Dog Training & Behaviour and becomes binding upon confirmation of your booking.
