Our Private Agility Classes are perfect for dogs and handlers who want a customized, one-on-one training experience. Whether you’re brand new to agility or looking to refine advanced skills, these sessions are tailored to your dog’s individual needs and your personal goals.
With focused attention from an experienced instructor, you and your dog will:
Build confidence on equipment at a pace that’s comfortable and safe.
Learn foundational skills such as targeting, mat work, and impulse control.
Strengthen communication between you and your dog through clear, positive training techniques.
Work on specific challenges, whether it’s improving speed, focus, or handling skills.
Prepare for group classes, competitions, or just a fun and enriching activity with your dog.
Private sessions are ideal for dogs who:
Need extra focus before joining a group class.
Are easily distracted or reactive in busy environments.
Require a personalized approach to progress and stay motivated.
Our positive, force-free methods ensure a fun and safe experience for both you and your dog. Whether your goal is to compete, build teamwork, or simply enjoy a new activity together, private agility training will set you up for success.
Once you and your dog have built solid foundational skills and confidence on all the agility equipment, you’re ready to take the next step with our Advanced Agility Classes. These classes are designed for teams who are eager to refine their techniques, improve communication, and take on more challenging skills in a fun and supportive environment.
At this level, teams are grouped according to their experience and ability, ensuring everyone works at a pace that’s right for them. Each class uses stations to practice increasingly complex handling patterns, obstacle sequences, and advanced skills. This approach expands your dog’s understanding of your cues and strengthens the teamwork between you and your canine partner.
After rotating through the skill-building stations, the class comes together to run a full course designed to mirror what you might encounter in a competition setting. This gives handlers the chance to practice course memorization, while dogs build the focus, stamina, and precision needed to complete an entire course successfully.
Our emphasis is always on relationship building and teamwork, helping to create a strong bond between handler and dog while fostering a sense of camaraderie and encouragement among participants. Whether you’re training for competition or simply looking to deepen your agility journey, our advanced classes provide the challenge and excitement to take your skills to the next level.
Our Puppy Agility Class is a fun and engaging way to continue building your young dog’s confidence, focus, and foundational skills. This program is exclusively for graduates of our Puppy Agility Program and is offered by trainer invitation only, ensuring each team is ready to safely progress to the next level.
In this class, puppies will continue to develop their agility skills through age-appropriate exercises that focus on teamwork, body awareness, and early handling techniques. Using safe, scaled-down equipment, we build on the foundation established in the beginner program while introducing more complex challenges and sequences at a pace that matches each puppy’s physical and emotional development.
The emphasis is on fun, confidence building, and relationship development. Each session is designed to strengthen the bond between you and your puppy while preparing them for a smooth transition into our Beginner Agility Foundations classes when they are ready for full-sized equipment.
By keeping class sizes small and carefully selecting participants, we create a supportive environment where every puppy receives personalized attention and the chance to grow into a happy, confident agility partner.
This six-week class is the perfect starting point for teams who are ready to explore the exciting sport of dog agility. Designed as a foundation skills program, it focuses on preparing both you and your dog for future success on the agility field by building the fundamental skills necessary for safe and effective training.
Before enrolling, we require that you and your dog have successfully completed at least one group obedience class taught using positive reinforcement methods. This ensures your dog is comfortable working around other dogs and has a strong training foundation to build on. If you’re new to group training, we recommend starting with our Never Too Late (foundations for obedience) and Coming Back for More (advanced obedience) programs, which are specifically designed to teach the skills needed to thrive in agility.
In Level 1, your dog will be introduced to essential targeting skills, including foot targeting and nose touch targeting, which are critical building blocks for agility training. You’ll also get hands-on experience with introductory agility equipment, while learning how to use body language and clear communication to guide your dog through obstacles.
This class not only teaches the basics of agility handling but also strengthens the bond between you and your dog. By the end of the program, you’ll have a solid understanding of how to work as a team, setting you up for success as you progress to more advanced levels of agility training.
In Level 2, you and your dog will build on the foundation skills learned in Level 1, taking the next step toward more advanced agility training. This class introduces preparation work for contact obstacles such as the teeter, dog walk, and A-frame, ensuring that your dog develops confidence and proper technique before progressing to full-height equipment.
The nose touch targeting behavior introduced in Level 1 will now be systematically transferred to the dog walk and A-frame, helping your dog understand how to safely and accurately navigate these obstacles. Different elements of the teeter totter will also be introduced gradually, allowing your dog to develop comfort and balance at their own pace.
Throughout the class, dog and handler teams will rotate through a series of stations, maximizing individual training time and providing focused practice on specific skills. In addition, teams will begin working on short sequences of tunnels and jumps, learning how to link obstacles together and improve communication on the course.
Because multiple teams will be working on the arena floor at the same time, it’s essential that dogs have strong focus and attention to their handler. This level helps solidify teamwork while introducing the skills necessary to move toward full agility courses, building both confidence and enthusiasm for the sport.
Our Level 2/3 Split Class combines students from both Beginner Agility Level 2 and Intermediate Agility Level 3, offering a dynamic training environment where each team works at their own skill level while benefiting from shared energy and motivation.
For Level 2 Students:
At this stage, teams begin preparation work for contact obstacles such as the teeter, dog walk, and A-frame. The nose touch targeting behavior introduced in Level 1 is systematically transferred to the dog walk and A-frame, building precision and confidence. Elements of the teeter are introduced gradually to ensure safety and comfort.
Dogs and handlers move station-to-station throughout the class to maximize training time and focus on different skills. Teams will also start building short sequences of tunnels and jumps, learning how to link obstacles together and improve handler-dog communication. Because multiple dogs are working on the floor simultaneously, strong focus and attention to the handler are essential for success.
For Level 3 Students:
This level is designed for teams ready to run full agility sequences of 12–18 obstacles. Courses will range from starter to advanced level and may include all equipment, with modifications provided for dogs still in the process of mastering more complex obstacles like weaves and the teeter.
Level 3 focuses on refining handling skills, improving speed and accuracy, and teaching dogs to maintain focus and stamina throughout a complete course. Handlers also develop their ability to read and memorize courses, preparing them for higher levels of agility training or competition.
This combined class provides an exciting and supportive environment for dogs and handlers to grow their skills, offering tailored challenges for each level while fostering teamwork and a strong handler-dog bond.
Level 3 builds on the skills developed in Levels 1 and 2, helping teams gain confidence and proficiency on a wider range of agility equipment while strengthening teamwork and communication. At this stage, dogs are actively working on contact obstacles, including the teeter, dog walk, and A-frame, with a focus on safety and proper technique.
The nose touch targeting behavior introduced in Level 1 is now fully integrated with the dog walk and A-frame, giving dogs a clear understanding of how to navigate these obstacles successfully. Elements of the teeter totter are introduced gradually, allowing dogs to build balance and confidence at their own pace.
Classes are structured with station-based training, where handlers and dogs move from one exercise area to another, maximizing individual training time and ensuring focused practice on each skill. In addition to equipment work, teams begin to link short sequences of tunnels and jumps, learning how to read and respond to handling cues while improving course flow.
Because multiple teams are working on the floor at the same time, dogs must have strong focus and attention to their handler. This level prepares both dog and handler to move toward more complex courses and lays the foundation for success in higher levels of agility training or competition.
Our Intermediate / Advanced Agility Program is designed for dog and handler teams who are ready to take their skills to the next level. This class is ideal for teams who can confidently run sequences of 12–18 obstacles, building both the dog’s focus and the handler’s ability to navigate more complex courses.
Course sequences will be set at starter to advanced levels, incorporating a variety of challenges to sharpen handling techniques and improve teamwork. All agility equipment may be used, with modifications provided for weaves and the teeter to accommodate dogs who are still working toward full proficiency on these obstacles.
This program focuses on developing speed, accuracy, and communication, while teaching dogs to maintain focus and enthusiasm throughout an entire run. Whether you’re preparing for competition or simply looking to continue your agility journey, this class provides the structure and challenge needed to help your team excel.
Our Intermediate Agility Program is designed for dog and handler teams who are ready to move beyond the basics and tackle full course sequences of 12–18 obstacles. This level focuses on building confidence, precision, and teamwork while introducing more complex handling skills.
Course sequences are set at starter and advanced levels, giving teams the opportunity to challenge themselves while continuing to refine their communication and timing. All agility equipment may be included, with modifications provided for weaves and the teeter to support dogs who are still gaining confidence and consistency on these obstacles.
This program is perfect for teams looking to strengthen their skills, improve speed and accuracy, and prepare for advanced training or future competition while maintaining a fun, positive experience for both dog and handler.
Our Puppy Agility Foundations class is a fun and engaging six-week program designed for puppies under six months of age. This class provides early enrichment during one of the most important stages of your puppy’s development, helping them build both physical confidence and foundational training skills while strengthening the bond between you and your pup.
In a safe, structured environment, your puppy will be introduced to pint-sized agility equipment specially designed for young dogs, making the experience safe and fun. Throughout the course, puppies will also work on crate training skills, focus and impulse control, and learning to navigate new and sometimes challenging situations with confidence.
This class is perfect for boosting your puppy’s problem-solving abilities, body awareness, and emotional resilience while providing an outlet for energy in a positive, constructive way. It also lays the groundwork for future training, including our Beginner Agility Foundations program, as your puppy grows and matures.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a more confident, focused puppy who is eager to work with you and ready to take on new challenges in both agility and everyday life.
Our Coming Back for More program is an intermediate-level obedience class designed for graduates of our First Paw Forward or Never Too Late programs. This six-week course helps you build on the foundational skills you’ve already learned and take them to the next level, making your dog’s training truly useful in everyday situations.
Throughout the program, we focus on improving your dog’s focus and reliability, especially when working around increasingly difficult distractions. You and your dog will practice advanced skills such as sit-stays, down-stays, and heeling around other dogs, as well as near toys and food.
To keep training fun and engaging, we introduce retrieving skills, tricks, and interactive training games, giving you practical tools to strengthen your communication and teamwork.
By the end of this course, you’ll notice improved consistency and focus in your dog, along with a deeper understanding of how to maintain progress at home. This class is taught by Renee deVilliers, who brings over 30 years of experience to help you and your dog reach your full potential as a team.
We believe positive reinforcement training is the key to raising a happy, confident puppy who understands what is expected of them. Training should begin as soon as your new puppy comes home, setting the stage for a lifetime of good habits and clear communication.
Our First Paw Forward program is specifically designed to take advantage of your puppy’s early learning and socialization period. Open to puppies 8–16 weeks old at the start of the program, this class helps you build a strong foundation during this critical stage of development.
Throughout the program, we introduce essential early skills such as sit, down, and settling calmly on a mat. You’ll also learn how to prevent common problem behaviors by teaching your puppy self-control, focus, and responsiveness to you—even around other dogs and people.
Each class includes safe, structured socialization, allowing your puppy to interact with others in a controlled environment. This prepares them for future experiences at parks, on walks, or in other public spaces, helping to ensure they grow into a well-adjusted adult dog.
Puppies only require their first set of vaccinations to join this program, making it easy to start training as early as possible.
We believe that training is the key to creating a happy, confident dog who understands what is expected of them. Training should begin as soon as your new dog arrives in your home, no matter their age. Whether you’ve adopted an older dog or missed out on puppy classes, it’s never too late to start building a strong foundation.
This foundations-level obedience class is designed for dogs four months and older. Over the course of the program, you’ll teach your dog the basic commands and skills needed to communicate effectively and set clear rules within your home. All exercises are progressive, building from one class to the next to ensure lasting success.
If this is your first group class, or if your adolescent puppy has become less cooperative and more independent, this is the perfect starting point. You’ll gain the tools to become your dog’s “guide to proper etiquette” in our human world, giving them the structure and skills they need to grow into a well-mannered, confident companion.
Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll be ready to advance to our intermediate-level classes, such as Coming Back for More, and even explore fun extracurricular activities like agility, rally obedience, tricks, or therapy work.
No matter your dog’s age or experience, this class sets the stage for a lifetime of learning, trust, and connection between you and your dog.
Rally Obedience is an exciting and engaging dog sport that combines traditional obedience skills with a fun, fast-paced course format. In this program, dogs and handlers navigate a sequence of stations, each featuring a different obedience exercise, such as heeling, sit, down, stand, and stay. The focus is on creating an upbeat, positive relationship between you and your dog while building precision and teamwork.
This advanced-level obedience class is perfect for teams looking to expand their skills beyond the basics. Rally not only strengthens your dog’s focus and reliability, but it also builds a strong foundation for other activities like agility, competitive obedience, or dog-assisted therapy work.
Participants in our Novice Rally program must have successfully completed Never Too Late (Level 1 Obedience) and Coming Back for More (Level 2 Obedience). Dogs should already be comfortable with the core components of obedience training, including attention to the handler, sit, down, stay, and loose-leash walking, as well as having a clear understanding of our positive reinforcement training methods.
Rally Obedience is a fun and rewarding next step for you and your dog, offering a way to strengthen your bond while learning new skills and enjoying the challenge of working together as a team.
