Come work with Bark 4 Joy Dog Training to prep your dog for downtown summer adventures! With people, noises, and other dogs, downtown can be a difficult area for most dogs. We will teach your dog how to settle, walk nicely, and ignore distractions! This class will be offered more than once. $40 per dog.
The Helena Farmer's Market is a very popular location for dogs in town, but it also can be overwhelming. There are a lot of people, different scary stimuli, and a lot of other dogs. We will desensitize your dog to a variety of stimuli, work on focusing, and teach them how to ignore other dogs.
This combo class will work on hiking skills and recall while out on a trail. During your time with us, we will introduce different important behaviors such as an emergency stop, heel, and recall command.
Paddleboarding has huge benefits for both people and dogs! Come teach your dog how to paddleboard. They'll learn how to relax on the board, board and deboard, and build their confidence. Meet us at Clark's Bay Recreation Area with a paddleboard and your dog. The class is $40.
This class will be hosted by Scenic Brew in Helena. We will be utilizing their outdoor space to set up scenarios which dogs may encounter when accompanying their handler to an outdoor patio. The class price includes 1 16 ounce drink and 1 snack for each class! Don't forget about the pup cup, too! The class is $175.
Pattern games are great for nervous, anxious, and overexcited dogs. These games help create consistency in environments that are unpredictable. These skills can change your life, and they’ll provide leaps and bounds of progress!
Recall is an extremely important skill for Montana dogs. During this class, you'll gain tips and tricks for teaching your dog recall. In addition, we will discuss predatory drive and how to curb this when out on trails.
Come work through different sections of socialization to create a well-rounded puppy. This class will introduce your dog to a variety of stimuli and teach handlers how to appropriately introduce new things.
Small breeds deserve training just like large breeds do. However, these little guys are often overlooked, but not at Bark 4 Joy! This class will cover a variety of topics including jumping, barking, and how to ask your small dog to offer better behaviors.
If you're struggling to determine what breed of dog is right for your lifestyle, this short program will allow you to choose the correct dog and find where to get your dog. This is typically a phone or zoom call.
15 minute (or less) phone call to briefly discuss any issues that you would like training assistance on. We will chat about our training programs and what we can do to help you, your family, and your dog(s) live a more successful and less stressful life.

20-30 minute phone call to briefly discuss training for a service dog for you/your family member, a therapy dog, or a facility dog. Service dogs will require an in-person evaluation when applicable.
