Prerequisite: Completion of Puppy Start Right Kindergarten Level Two or equivalent with instructor approval. You must already know how to use a marker effectively, have duration behaviors of sit, down, stay, basic foundation leash skills, and a recall that works well at home. If not, please consider enrolling in a Level Two or Level One course based on your current skillset. Adolescence is a stage of big feelings, big energy, and big changes—and it’s one of the most important times to stay committed to training and enrichment. This six-week course is designed specifically for teenage dogs and their humans to navigate this challenging and often misunderstood phase with confidence, clarity, and compassion. Using modern, force-free, marker-reward based methods, we’ll help your adolescent dog stay engaged in learning while supporting the development of focus, self-control, and responsiveness. We’ll teach you how to work with, not against, your teen’s changing brain and body, while reinforcing the manners you’ve already started building. This course doubles down on what matters most during adolescence: enrichment, communication, and consistency. You’ll learn how to turn everyday moments into learning opportunities, prevent frustration-based behaviors, and guide your dog through distractions and excitement without losing connection.
