POSITIVE BOARD & TRAIN
We understand life and its challenges — between work, school, kids, homework, family, friends, and other commitments, it’s hard to find time to learn to train a puppy. Our certified, experienced trainer will help you make the best of your puppy’s critical learning time and spend dedicated time with your puppy to get the training results for you in a fraction of the time and will provide continued help and support for stronger, lasting results.
You wouldn’t hire a lawyer to learn to argue your case and neither would you hire a mechanic to learn to fix your car’s engine. Why hire a trainer to learn how to train your puppy? Leave it to a certified professional to assist you in achieving your doggie goals, while you focus on other critical things in your life.
We only do Board & Train for a limited number of dogs at a time to ensure that your puppy gets individualized care and attention, multiple training sessions and field trips in a day combined with adequate playtime. Our Positive Puppy Board & Train program is designed to focus on puppy-appropriate socialization, problem prevention, grooming, handling, and of course, foundational manners. This involves multiple training sessions, field trips in a day combined with adequate play time, individualized care and attention, and more.
Board & Train’s Signature Program is for 20 days but other customized plans are available
What makes your program different?
As always our methods are 100% force free and positive reinforcement based! Unlike other boarding and training programs out there, we will not put a shock collar on your dog, EVER! We get results by teaching your dog what you’d like them to do and make those things what your dog wants to do! So not only is your furry friend a well-behaved pup, but they are loving every minute of it! It’s a win-win!

5 series class- Giving Your Dog Choice and Control can improve a dog's quality of life - and your relationship with that dog. Force-free dog training emerged as a movement more than two decades ago and continues to grow in popularity and availability. Some segments of the dog world – groomers, shelter staff, and veterinary hospital workers – were slower to embrace cooperative care, but this is now changing rapidly. Fear Free offers educational opportunities and certification for dog trainers and groomers, with plans to add dog walkers, pet sitters, and more in the near future. The organization also makes Fear Free information available to pet owners and shelter workers at no cost. All dog owners need to perform basic husbandry tasks on their dogs at some point – pull burrs out of the dog’s coat, examine and clean a wound, administer eye drops, clean ears, brush teeth, and so on. To gain their dogs’ willing participation in these tasks, Jones recommends that, first, dog owners teach their dogs some basic behaviors for cooperative care – skills that will ease your way through almost any dog-care procedures that owners are likely to face. “10 Essentials” for cooperative care are:
1) Chin Rest (or Bucket Game)
2) Lie on Side
3) Restraint
4) Wear a Muzzle
5) Foot Handling
6) Mouth Handling
7) Taking Medication
8) Injection or Blood Draw
9) Eye Exam
10) Ear Exam
Every Monday at 1:00 pm, July 10-31
Off-leash obedience is one of the most advanced skills in dog training.

Having great off-leash obedience lets you and your dog enjoy nature together. This can be incredibly good for relaxing stressed-out dogs (and people) and is extremely enriching.
Letting your dog sniff and roam is one of the biggest (free) things you can do to improve his life – if you do it well.
In this 4 class series, you’ll be using a long line for training and have an opportunity (if ready) to be invited to an off-leash park in San Diego with trainers Yo & Julie.
AKC Rally® is all about teamwork. You and your dog navigate a course together, side-by-side, at your own brisk pace. You move him through a course with signs where he performs different exercises. The courses are designed by the Rally judge (10-20 signs per course, depending on the class level) that include various turns and commands such as sit, down, stay, etc.
Unlimited communication from the handler to the dog is to be encouraged and not penalized. While touching isn’t allowed, you can use verbal Cues, clap your hands, pat your legs and use hand signals to praise and encourage your dog.
Both purebred and mixed-breed dogs are welcome to participate in Rally, making it an inclusive sport for all dog breeds
Looking for another pet-friendly activity to do with your canine companion? Kayaking can be a great way to spend time with your dog while doing something you both love - exploring the great outdoors.
With summer right around the corner, there’s never been a better time to bring your pup on an adventure off the beaten path. With some considerations, training, and preparation, taking a dog on a kayak is easier than you think.
