Canine parkour, loosely considered a form of dog agility, is a new dog sport. In parkour, you teach your dog to perform “interactions” with objects in the environment, such as jumping over, going under, going between, walking across, going around, backing between or onto, or sending around.
Canine parkour builds confidence and fosters teamwork by allowing you and your dog to explore and meet new challenges together as you perform the interactions with different objects in different locations. It also builds physical strength and flexibility while improving overall physical conditioning. Best of all, canine parkour is appropriate for dog and handler teams of all ages. Young dogs in training fit dogs in their prime, older dogs with limited mobility, and dogs of every age and circumstance can enjoy their unique adventure. Whether you are safer at home or on a walk in your neighborhood, practicing dog parkour will keep your dog active and enriched and develop your relationship.
Suitable for healthy dogs of all ages. Because it is a sport that focuses on the mental and physical growth of each dog and human team, anyone can participate. Young pups and senior dogs will be restricted to specific activities to prevent injury.
In this class, you will learn the basics of each exercise and how to maintain safety throughout the training. Class is four consecutive weeks.
