This class focuses on building the skills dogs and handlers need before introducing agility equipment. You’ll learn essential handling techniques like front crosses, send outs, and direction cues, while your dog practices moving around cones and poles with confidence and clarity.
We use simple, safe equipment such as cones, poles, touch pads, and platforms to teach teamwork, body awareness, and communication — no jumps or tunnels involved.
This is a rolling curriculum, so you can join at any point after completing Foundations, and we’ll meet you where you're at.
Pre-requisite: Completion of the Foundations class.
Age: Any
Our Foundations class is where your dog sport journey begins! This course covers essential skills like engagement, marker systems, body awareness, targeting, toy play, and more. These are the building blocks that set you and your dog up for success in agility, rally, obedience, and beyond. Foundations is a prerequisite for most of our sport classes, ensuring all teams start with a solid understanding and clear communication.
Advancement is based on a checklist of skills, and not a minimum amount of class attendance.
This class focuses on the core building blocks of obedience and rally, including static positions (sit, down, stand), front and finish positions, and the beginnings of formal retrieve skills. It’s ideal for those wanting to improve their dog’s clarity, control, and understanding of teamwork-based exercises.
Pre-requisites: Completion of Foundations is required before enrolling.
In this small-group class (max 3 dogs), your dog will learn to hunt, locate a target odour, and offer a trained final response. This class focuses on building strong foundation scent skills in a calm, supportive environment. Designed for dogs training at Dabble Dogs, this class does not include field trips—more advanced dogs can join separate off-site sessions once they’re ready.
