This 4 session course is designed for handlers that are new to dog sports. Topics include: 1) Sports etiquette and safety, 2) Evaluation of confidence, drive and focus, 3)Motivation and Engagement, 4) Fetch, Recall, Fitness and Body Awareness. This course includes overview of a number of dog sports, and evaluation to determine dog aptitude and handler skill.
Tricks Training is fun for you and your dog! The class is designed for dogs of all ages and their humans who are looking for a fun, engaging way to bond with their pups!! Using positive reinforcement, you will learn how to teach your dog a variety of fun and useful tricks. We’ll start with fetch, spin, target, wobble board, Figure 8 and more! New tricks will be presented each week.
This is a great way to build confidence, focus, and engagement with your dog!! You’ll leave with new skills, both for you and your dog, to show off at home!
You will also have an opportunity to earn a Novice Tricks Dog title with the “Do More With Your Dog program.”
Prerequisite: We highly recommend participation in a basic obedience class and/or puppy class before jumping into Tricks and Games. Dog should have a reliable on-command “sit,” “down,” and “recall.”
Spend some time practicing with your agility dog. An indoor course/equipment will be set up to allow practice on individual obstacles or practice handling through multiple obstacles.
Agility Practice Times will serve "Trialing/Getting Ready to Trial" teams. Enroll in these if you are already trialing, or have taken enough agility classes for your dog to navigate all the obstacles at full height safely.
If you want some suggestions on how to fix an issue, help will be available but remember this is not a class. It is a time to practice and have fun with your dog.
Expect at minimum two (2) 10 minute opportunities in the ring. Participants will rotate through a run order. Limited to 6 dog/handler teams.
These courses are designed for the beginning dog to show basic sequencing and performance skills in agility.
The ultimate goal of this class is to prepare you for Agility Course Test 1 and Agility Course Test Jumpers 1 (ACT1, ACTJ1). We will video for virtual titles as dog and handler are ready.
Some participants may progress to ACT2 and ACTJ2 as skills develop. This course can be taken multiple times to build confidence and progress at your own pace.
Dog/Handler teams can participate and complete using "rollers" as well as catches in the air. Go for distance, accuracy, and speed with an number of techinques and games that will prepare you for a variety of competative disc sports. We will even explore combining agility and tricks with disc play.
Bring your game to the next level. This class will help you practice and hone your skills for competitive disc games. We will cover techniques and strategies beyond the basics. Most people choose to take this class again and again to practice for competition in organizations such as UpDog, Skyhounds, and Toss-n-Fetch.
This is not your average game of "Frisbee". Dog/Handler teams can participate and complete using "rollers" as well as catches in the air. This class is held indoors on a turf surface.
Discs will be available to try and purchase.
Dogs must have a good recall and ability to focus on chasing the disc.
A long-line can be used to help keep dogs focused and retuning to handler.
Dogs need not bring the disc back to you during this intro class.
Disc throwing techiques will be taught in this class.
Dogs will be required to remain in car or crate during portions of the class when not working.
Work with an experienced Dock Diving instructor to get your dog started with the sport. You and your dog will learn the basics of pool entry and exit and build confidence with each step toward full fledged jumping.
Rent the dock and pool to practice swimming or dock diving games. Available to club membes with a full or basic membership. When booking, select the START time for your rental. The booking will automatically be set to 60 minutes.

Come practice with the FLX Flyball Dogs. The club meets most Tuesday evenings at our Phelps facility. Working drop-in spots are available for handlers with some flyball experience. Multi-dog discounts will apply during checkout. Helpers are always free! Come learn to box load, pass call, take stats - lots of jobs for non-handlers! Practice is also open to members of other Flyball clubs as a drop-in.
This series of four sessions provides a new flyball participant the fundamental skills needed to particpate in club practices. From game basics to Jumps and Recall, Ball Retrival and Box Turn, and how to work as a team. The sessions progress handler and dog through a logical sequence of smaller games to allow practice of fundamental skills at home. Once completed, participants may enroll as a drop-in to sessions to continue to develop skills.
Does your dog love to chase squirrels, rabbits, mice, or anything that moves? Dogs that love to chase will shine in this mini-workshop. This indoor mini-course tests your dog's interest in the sport while you gain all the information you need to participate in your first FCAT or CAT trial.

Dogs who pass the CGC test should be under good control and be safe around people and other dogs. The purpose of the CGC Program is to ensure that our favorite companion, the dog, can be a respected member of the community because it has been trained to be well behaved in the home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs. The CGC Program welcomes both purebred and mixed breed dogs. The CGC Test is noncompetitive, and dogs are not required to perform with the same precision required in formal obedience. Dogs that pass all 10 items of the CGC test, including purebreds and mixed breeds, are listed in the CGC records at the American Kennel Club. Owners of dogs that pass all 10 items of the CGC test may order an official CGC certificate from the American Kennel Club, or if their dog has an AKC, PAL, or AKC Canine Partners number, the dog can be awarded an official title. Titles are listed on the dog’s title record and the suffix “CGC” may be used after the dog’s name.

This class is designed for those who have the basics of Rally Obedience and are ready to go work toward their first Rally title. This 5-week session runs continually. Most choose to repeat the class multiple times until achieving Novice titles. Each session will allow dog & handler to navigate a full Novice Rally course. Video will be recorded for optional AKC virtual Rally title submission. Participants in this course will support and encourate each other at Rally trials.
