This combination class is the best of both worlds! This combined Calm Canines Nose Work...This combination class is the best of both worlds! This combined Calm Canines Nose Work class is designed for you and your sensitive dog to explore the world of scent detection together. The beginner pieces are designed to introduce dogs to the basics of nose work, helping them tap into their natural scenting abilities while building confidence, focus, and independence in a calm, low-pressure environment. Dogs learn foundational skills for nose work through searching for food hidden in boxes and other containers and we focus on reading your dog’s body language and supporting the development of their scenting and hunting skills through positive reinforcement. Then we advance their nose work skills by teaching your dog to identify and search for specific essential oil odours including wintergreen, pine and anise in a controlled, supportive environment. We focus on teaching the dogs how to locate and alert to odours hidden in various locations, including containers, interior spaces, and outdoor settings. These fundamental nose work skills can be transferred to everyday life skills, helping sensitive dogs and their humans grow their repertoire of strategies for navigating the world.
