During this workshop, we will focus on proofing dogs against distractors in both container and interior searches through carefully designed setups that reinforce the value of hunting for target odour.
Workshop Requirements:
(A) Designed for reactive-free dogs only, (B) Dogs will be crated outside the search area between runs, (C) High-value food or toy rewards are required, (E) Intended for handlers currently preparing for or competing at the Excellent, Masters, or Elite levels, (F) Dogs must have a solid foundation in target odours (e.g., Wintergreen, Pine, Clove, and Anise).
Food distractors can be tempting, but with the right training approach, your dog can learn that finding target odour is always the better choice.
Let's remind our dogs that hunting for target odour is far more rewarding than finding those pesky distractors!
