Boarding Reservation & Payment Policy
Due to our limited capacity, all Boarding, Board & Train, and Board & Review reservations require payment in full to reserve your dog's space. By submitting a boarding request, you authorize Good Lead Dog Training to charge the card on file if your requested dates are accepted. Once your reservation is approved, you will receive an invoice. If payment is not received within 2 days, the card on file will be automatically charged to secure your reservation.
Reservations are not held until payment has been received. Because we reserve a limited space specifically for your dog, all prepaid boarding fees are non-refundable. Reservations are first-come, first-served. We cannot hold boarding space without payment. If payment has not been received, your requested dates may be released to another client without notice.
We understand travel plans can change. If you need to modify or cancel your reservation after payment has been made, the amount paid will be applied as a credit to your account for a future boarding stay. Credits are non-transferable and no cash refunds will be issued. Date changes are subject to availability.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up Appointments
To provide consistent care for all dogs in our home, all drop-offs and pick-ups are scheduled during designated appointment windows. Appointments outside of these windows are by prior approval only and are subject to a $25 convenience fee. This fee compensates for the interruption to our daily schedule and allows us to continue providing uninterrupted care for all dogs in our program.
Cancellations & Reservation Changes
Board & Train reservations are non-refundable. For Boarding and Board & Review reservations, cancellations or reservation changes made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled arrival time will receive a boarding credit that may be applied toward a future boarding stay. Boarding credits are non-refundable, have no cash value, and may not be redeemed for cash.
Clients will receive a booking confirmation and a reminder text prior to their reservation. It is the client's responsibility to review these reminders and notify Good Lead Dog Training of any necessary changes. Cancellations, modifications, or schedule changes made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to additional fees. Boarding reservations are reserved exclusively for your dog. If you choose to pick up your dog before the scheduled departure date, any unused prepaid boarding days are forfeited and are non-refundable and non-transferable, as those dates were held specifically for your reservation.
Boarding Eligibility
Our home boarding program is designed primarily for established Good Lead clients. The standard boarding rate applies to dogs that have successfully completed one of our training programs and have demonstrated they can safely integrate into our home environment. Good Lead Dog Training reserves the right to decline boarding for any dog that presents a safety concern, significant stress, illness, or behavior incompatible with our home boarding environment.
Health Requirements
Owners certify that, at the time of check-in, their dog:
- Is in good overall health.
- Has not shown signs of contagious illness within the previous 30 days.
- Is current on required vaccinations or approved titer testing.
- Is maintained on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
- Is free of fleas, ticks, lice, and other contagious parasites.
- Has disclosed all medications, medical conditions, allergies, dietary restrictions, and behavioral concerns before boarding.
Owners are responsible for providing all required medications in their original labeled containers along with written administration instructions.
Veterinary Care
If emergency veterinary care becomes necessary, Good Lead Dog Training will make every reasonable effort to contact the owner first. If the owner cannot be reached, the listed emergency contact is authorized to make medical decisions on the owner's behalf. The owner accepts full financial responsibility for all veterinary expenses incurred during the dog's stay.
Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that boarding dogs in a home environment is not without inherent risks. Although dogs are supervised and reasonable precautions are taken, injuries may occur through normal play or unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to bites, scratches, sprains, illness, allergic reactions, or other accidental injuries. I understand that vaccines reduce, but do not eliminate, the risk of contagious disease. Should my dog become ill during or after boarding, I accept responsibility for all veterinary treatment and associated costs. I release Good Lead Dog Training, its owners, employees, and representatives from liability for injury, illness, loss, or death except where prohibited by applicable law.
Personal Property
Owners are encouraged to leave valuable belongings at home. Good Lead Dog Training is not responsible for lost, damaged, or destroyed collars, leashes, toys, bedding, bowls, clothing, or other personal items left with the dog.
Photos & Videos
Photos and videos shared during your dog's stay are intended as personal updates for the pet owner. Clients are welcome to share this content for personal use but may not edit, use commercially, or repost it in a misleading manner. We also ask clients to respect the privacy of our staff, home, and other clients.
Abandoned Pets
If a pet is not picked up as scheduled, no extension has been arranged, and Good Lead Dog Training is unable to contact the owner after reasonable attempts, the pet may be considered abandoned after 10 days. Additional boarding fees will continue to accrue during this period. Good Lead Dog Training reserves the right to make appropriate arrangements for the pet as permitted by applicable law.
Agreement
By signing below, I certify that the information provided is accurate and complete. I have read, understand, and agree to abide by this Boarding Agreement and all Good Lead Dog Training policies.
