We are a positive training school offering classes in puppy kindergarten, pet manners, agility, rally obedience, scent detection, competition obedience, tricks and more. We also have a number of mini workshops and weekend seminars hosted at our facility. With our wide variety of classes and workshops we have a program for every dog!

Our 1600 sq ft obedience room offers plenty of room for puppy classes, pet manners classes and sport classes.

about 1 hourContact performance breaking down in competition? Can't hit those difficult weave entries? Each lesson will include half the class dedicated to working difficult weave entries, and handling approaches into and out of the poles. The remainder of the class will work on proofing and teaching a solid understanding of contact criteria (stopped and running contacts are both covered). Distance from obstacles, proofing motion, difficult angles will all be worked. Dogs must be sequencing 12 weave poles to attend this class.

- Agility Intro to Distance Skills Workshop | $85.00
about 3 hoursTeach your dog the skills needed for distance handling for the games of AAC Gamblers and CKC Points and Distance! Dogs and handler will learn the "go on" cue (driving a line away from the handler), "get out" (a lateral push away from the handler), and "switch" (direction change away from the handler). We will discuss how to handler distance sequences for consistency and understanding for your dog. Skills will be practised on several novice distance sequences. Jump and tunnels only will be used for this workshop. This workshop is ideal for any dog that has taken a level 2 agility class or higher.
- Agility Jump Foundations | $155.00
about 1 hourJumpwork is a key skill for any agility dog. Jumps make up the largest portion of obstacles of any agility competition class. However, they are often the most undertrained obstacle from a jumping skill perspective. Course design and handling has progressed such that jumping is often a very difficult skill on many courses. This class will work through the foundation jump grids and the progressions associated with each. If you are interested in providing your dog with a solid education in jumping that will serve him well for the rest of his agility training and competing career this class is for you. This class is suitable for dogs 6 months of age and older (large/giant breeds 8 month and older). Please note, young dogs will be working with bumps rather than jump bars so they will not be jumping any height until they are age appropriate. *Puppies/dogs must have a reliable sit/stay to attend (handler can leave dog and walk 15ft away) *Students are required to bring a toy, target plate or food dish (and treats) to class
- Agility League | $165.00
about 1 hourThe league will run for six weeks with each week offering a different game to play (ie: steeplechase, jumpers, gamble, tunnellers, snooker, points & distance, snakes and ladders, etc). This is a great chance to come out and play a bunch of different games in a fun match type setting. This is not an instructional class, but instead a chance to practice your skills with a bit of friendly competition. Dogs and handlers should be weaving 12 poles and have attended the Starters/Advanced Coursework (or a similar class) or be at a starters level to attend.
- Agility Level 1 | $220.00
about 1 hourGet ready for some fun! The agility level 1 class will focus on teaching your dog agility obstacles, with a focus on safety and correct performance of each obstacle for a successful career in agility. The dog and handler will begin performing short sequences of 3-6 obstacles in a row. Your dog will learn jumps, tunnels, the tire, the table, and lowered aframe, dogwalk and teeter. This class is for dogs at least 7 months of age and dogs who have basic obedience skills.

about 1 hourLets start changing directions! You and your dog will learn how to perform front, rear and blind crosses for change of directions on course. You will also begin to work on wraps and Kturns for tight turns and 180 degree changes of direction. This class is appropriate for dogs who have completed the level 1 class or a similar class.

about 1 hourLet's add a few more moves! You and your dog will continue to work on your different crosses as well as learn some new handling moves. Obstacle discrimination, verbal flip away on contacts, tunnel threadles, backsides of tunnels and serpentines will be introduced. This class is appropriate for dogs that can sequence up to 10 obstacles in a row, and for handlers who have an understanding of front, rear, blind crosses and tight turns (jump wraps).

about 1 hourIt's time to get fancy! This class will teach you advanced handling moves for today's courses. You will continue to perfect the skills learned in level 3, as well as learn how to perform threadles, threadle rears, backside wraps, push back serpentines, push back blinds and come to side (flappy tappy) This class is appropriate for dogs that can sequence up to 10 obstacles in a row, and for handlers who have a strong understanding of the level 3 skills.

The weekly courses will include skills learned in level 3 and level 4 with an emphasis on level 4 skills. about 1 hourTeach your puppy or dog the important foundation behaviours needed for a long and successful career in agility. Skills like tight turns, jump skills, automatic down on the table, nose targeting, foundation behaviours for 2 on 2 off and/or running contacts, start line stays, shaping exercises to create a thinking dog, flatwork for handling crosses and advanced handling moves will all be taught. We will also work on body awareness exercises, and building motivation and drive in your future agility dog. This class is safe for puppies as young as 12 weeks of age.

about 1 hourThe beginner obedience class will teach your dog all the basic commands needed to become a well behaved member of your family. Your dog will learn sit, down, stay, come, heel position, go to your bed and loose leash walking. We will also cover manners like 'leave it', waiting at doorways, four paws on the floor, accepting handling, and automatic attention on the owner. Confidence building exercises will be taught and discussion on common issues will also be covered. The class includes handouts and video tutorials for the skills taught in the obedience program, and a free tug toy. Students are encouraged to join the Hyper Hounds Puppy/Beginner private facebook group for additional tips, videos and questions/answers from instructors. This class is for dogs 6 months and older. Dogs with reactivity issues and other severe behaviour issues are not appropriate for this class.

about 1 hourThe Beyond the Basics class is for dogs that have completed a puppy or beginner obedience program and are ready for greater challenges. This class will work on increasing challenges by adding distractions, duration and distance for the skills taught in the puppy/beginner classes. We will also focus on skills needed to pass the CKC's Canine Good Neighbour program. These skills include sit for greeting and grooming, heeling past another dog handler team, out of sight stays, calming down after play, position changes (sit, down, stand with distance), more advanced "leave its", recalls and loose leash walking around distractions and much more.

about 1 hourTrick training is a great way to bond with your dog, keep them mentally stimulated and have a ton of fun together! Our trick program includes an intensive theory video lesson with handouts that will teach you a variety of ways to train new skills, how to break down behaviours into teachable parts, the mechanics of shaping and more. This knowledge will give you the power to teach complex tricks to your dog! Tricks included in the course are spin, play dead, bow, say your prayers, orbit around handler, jump through/over arms, wave, sit pretty, high five/ten, crawl, dog catch (jump into arms), roll over, backup and so much more! Tricks can be requested by students. So if you have a specific trick you want to teach your dog, our instructor would be happy to help you. Tricks taught in class can be used to attain trick titles through Do More With Your Dog and the CKC!
