Our Building Basics group class is our launching point for our Core Obedience Program. All dogs start at this level regardless of their previous training experience. However, those with foundational training can progress quickly through the appropriate levels. To graduate, students must demonstrate proficiency in the following behaviors, progressively increasing duration, distance, distraction, and diversity, and transitioning toward real-world applications as determined by the instructor: sit, down, stay, loose leash walking, come and appropriate greetings of people. All dogs must have Rabies and Bordetella (for puppies, age appropriate vaccines are accepted if they are not old enough for Rabies) and should not exhibit aggressive behavior on a leash, such as excessive barking, lunging, or snapping towards people or other dogs. If you'd like to purchase Group Class Core Obedience Package instead of paying for single sessions, please email [email protected] . Sundays classes are always at 9:00am and Wednesday classes are always at 6:30pm.
For all dogs who have been given instructor approval to graduate out of Sharpening Skills, our Mastering Manners group class is your next step. Building a Marker Language is a three-week class designed to help handlers communicate more clearly and intentionally with their dogs. Handlers will learn how to expand their use of marker words for both food and toys, including location markers, while improving timing and consistency. This class emphasizes clean communication, thoughtful reinforcement, and reducing confusion during training. By the end of the series, teams will have a more fluent marker system that supports clarity, confidence, and smoother training sessions.
Does your dog need help finding their “off switch”? Calm Conduct focuses on place training, impulse control, and relaxation exercises to help excitable dogs learn how to settle. This 5-week class is perfect for owners who want a calmer home environment and a dog that can relax around distractions.
Our 4-week Hiking Etiquette Class prepares you and your dog for safe and enjoyable trail adventures. You’ll learn proper leash skills, how to maintain space on the trail, and the best ways to handle real-world distractions and encounters. This class is required for Hiking Club membership and ensures every dog and handler team is confident, respectful, and ready to hit the trails together.
Leash Pullers Anonymous is a five-week class designed to help dogs and handlers build calmer, more connected leash skills. This class focuses on reducing pulling by improving communication, engagement, and understanding leash pressure rather than relying on constant correction. Handlers will learn how to create clearer expectations, support their dog’s emotional state, and navigate real-life walking challenges with more confidence. Through structured exercises and practical setups, teams will develop more relaxed, enjoyable walks that translate beyond the classroom.

Canine Conditioning Gym is a 45-minute guided session focused on building strength, body awareness, focus, and emotional regulation through structured movement and problem solving. Dogs rotate through carefully designed stations that challenge both mind and body, with built-in recovery periods to support calm and thoughtful engagement. This is not a free play or social session. It is a gym-style workout designed to help dogs move better, think clearly, and practice regulation in a small group environment.
Recall Revolution Night is an evening dedicated entirely to building faster, more reliable recalls in real-world situations. Throughout the event, dogs and handlers will work through a variety of recall-focused exercises designed to improve responsiveness, engagement, follow-through, and motivation around distractions. Teams will practice recalls in different setups, learn strategies for maintaining reliability outside of training sessions, and develop a clearer understanding of how to build a recall that holds up in everyday life. This event is designed for owners looking to strengthen one of the most important practical skills their dog can have while making training engaging and rewarding for both ends of the leash. Free to attend, with optional cash donations benefiting Outrider Dogs Rescue encouraged.
Red, White, and Well-Behaved Night is designed to help you and your dog navigate the increased activity that comes with the summer season. Throughout the evening, teams will work through practical exercises that focus on maintaining a calm, responsive mindset in the presence of noise, movement, and higher levels of stimulation. Emphasis will be placed on building duration, improving follow-through, and helping dogs settle more easily as excitement rises around them. From unusual props and decorations to creative training setups, teams will practice maintaining engagement and thoughtful decision-making while navigating a slightly more stimulating environment. This event is designed to help dogs work through novelty in a productive way while giving owners practical strategies they can apply outside of class. Costumes are encouraged for both dogs and handlers, and awards will be handed out for select costume categories throughout the evening. Free to attend, with optional cash donations benefiting Beacon of Light Animal Rescue encouraged.
The Social Without Interaction Night offers a different approach to socialization by shifting the focus away from play and toward calm coexistence. Throughout the evening, dogs will work in the presence of one another while practicing neutrality, engagement with their handler, and the ability to settle without needing to interact. This experience is designed to help dogs feel more comfortable and thoughtful around others, reducing overexcitement, frustration, or uncertainty in group settings. Owners will gain a clearer understanding of what true social stability looks like and how to support it in everyday life.
