Parallel walks can help with socialization, reactivity training, as well as leash manners. In a group setting, dogs and their handlers will walk side by side at a safe distance and without direct interaction. Handlers keep the dogs focused on moving forward, avoiding face-to-face confrontations that might trigger unwarranted reactions. As the walk progresses, and so long as the dogs remain calm and relaxed, the distance between the dogs is then gradually decreased. This structured approach can help build confidence and create space for more positive feelings about being around other dogs. Required materials include a harness, flat collar, or martingale collar, 6-15 foot leash or longline, treat pouch, treats and water bowl (water is available on site). Must have prior training experience with Modern Dog Training/Abbey.
