We will cover basic scent theory, train ‘take scent’ and ‘trail’ cues and get you started with some beginner friendly trails. In order to participate, you will need to bring the following: your dog, well fitting padded harness (with back attachment point), ~30 foot longline, gloves (for grip - fingerless are ideal), your dog favourite toy, water bowl, treat pouch with training treats and 3 small plastic containers with a high value food reward. Please dress in weather appropriate clothing that you feel good moving in and athletic footwear such as light hiking boots or trail runners. Although this session is 3 hours in duration, you and your dog will be taking many breaks as trailing is conducted one dog at a time. All mantrailing sessions are accessible for dogs of all ages, sizes, temperaments and breeds.
