This class focuses on advanced obedience, environmental neutrality, impulse control, and handler communication — the building blocks required before task training and public access work.
Throughout the course, teams will work on:
✔️ Advanced loose-leash heeling and position work
✔️ Extended duration sit, down, and place stays
✔️ Reliable recall under distraction
✔️ Neutrality around people, dogs, and busy environments
✔️ Calm settling in public-style setups
✔️ Polite greetings and appropriate public behavior
✔️ Handling skills and clear marker communication
We emphasize stability, confidence, and consistency because a service dog must be reliable anywhere, anytime.
This course is ideal for:
• Owner-trainers beginning their service dog journey
• Young prospects building foundational skills
• Teams preparing for future public access training
• Dogs with solid basic obedience ready for the next step
Structured. Progressive. Purpose-driven.
Not for: Reactive or aggressive dogs. Specific task training will be discussed but won't be completed in within the framework of the group classes. Task training is best done through private training lessons one-on-one with a trainer.
This course supports service dog training but does not guarantee service dog status or public access rights.
