Prerequisites: Sports Puppy 2, Puppy Foundations 2 or Canine Essentials, or an assessment is required prior to beginning agility. Your dog should be at least 8 months of age and be able to walk on a loose lead beside you and follow basic cues such as sit, down, and stay. Your dog should be able to be crated. No aggressive or reactive dogs. Foundations consist of core skills for the dog and the handler. This class will set you and your dog up for future success, whether you are new to agility or have started training but feel you or your dog need to get back to basics. This is the first level in a four-level agility series preparing you for competition. We make sure your dog develops balance, strength, and confidence using appropriate muscles and making the right choices while working on low equipment and props. It is recommended that you stay in this class until you and your dog have acquired the necessary knowledge to move on to Agility Foundations Level 2. There is weekly homework designed to support progress through the Foundation courses.
