This is a 60 minute appointment. Training walks are not long distance walks. There is a lot of starting, stopping, turning, and resetting involved. Training can start inside the home or in the yard. Leash skills can include learning to watch the person on the end of the leash, understanding leash pressure, not chewing on the leash, basic heel, loose leash, turning with direction, changing speeds, stepping backwards, and exploring walks. As your pups skills increase, so will the actual distance of the walk.
Pre-requisite: Active Client. Recent initial consult or puppy sessions. Must be pre-approved for registration.
Winter month booking restriction: Subject to appropriate weather and walking conditions for the safety of dogs and Trainer. If your dog is indicating they are cold in anyway, the walk will be finished early. Owner is responsible for dog to be ready for walking, including any coats or boots that might be used. Walking services must be booked during daylight hours as a safety precaution. Due to the nature of changing weather, walking appointments may only be booked 2 days in advance during the winter. If weather is not conducive to an outdoor appointment you have the option to postpone to another date, or to have the trainer work on indoor skills with your dog.
Note: Not intended for dogs with serious reactivity concerns
