This 6-week is designed to prepare you for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® test. Upon passing the test, you’ll get an application to send to AKC for enrollment in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® Program. All dogs are welcome to participate in the program including purebreds and mixed breeds.
In this class you and your pup will learn the foundational behaviors leading toward the Canine Good Citizen® test including sit, down, recalls, tolerance of handling, tolerance of strangers and more.

This is our foundational manners course for puppies and dogs of all ages. It’s a 6-week class focused on teaching you how to teach your dog good manners and behaviors using reward and engagement. A great class for dogs of all ages—from puppies to adolescent dogs and even older dogs that just need a refresher—it is also perfect for dogs that are settling into a new home that could use a reminder on their manners, or that may not have had any previous training.
Topics will include: good manners, appropriate greetings, leash walking, and coming when called. We’ll work on increasing duration, distance, and distraction.

This is a 6-week beginning manners class for dogs that plan to pursue dog sports and activities such as agility, rally, nose work, field work, or barn hunt. With an emphasis on engagement, focus, and learning to work enthusiastically with their handler, this class is great for dogs of all ages—from puppies to adolescent dogs, or even older dogs.
Topics will include foundation sport skills such as learning how to work at the handler’s side, an introduction to using targets and stations, using toy play and food as a reward, as well as all the basics like sit, down, stay, and coming when called.

Puppy Kindergarten - for dogs 8-16 weeks old at the start of class $140.00
This 4-week class is ideal for all young puppies. The focus will be on socialization and exploring new experiences, engagement, relationship building, and basic life skills. You’ll learn practical solutions for the challenges of puppyhood, including how to handle puppy biting and mouthiness, crate training and confinement, potty training, problem prevention, and other puppy-related issues. Puppies will be working primarily with their owners on all the fun activities. There may be opportunities for carefully supervised puppy interaction. We introduce some basic obedience skills in this class but most skills are covered on our Manners classes, which we recommend taking concurrently or shortly after completing this series.

Does your dog bark, lunge, growl, snap at, or pull towards other dogs while on walks? Does your dog suddenly stop being able to listen when another dog appears? This 6-week class is designed to help fix on-leash reactivity towards dogs when out and about in public and on walks. You will learn management skills, focus and attention techniques, and other routines to help your dog be successful and walk more calmly when seeing other dogs. You will also learn to read dog body language, techniques for relaxation, and helping your dog perceive other dogs as something positive through counterconditioning and desensitization.
This semi-private class is limited to just four (4) dogs. The first class is lecture-only, so NO DOGS during the first class.

This is a basic manners class for dogs that are overly friendly, bouncy, and bursting with energy—and maybe impulsive or having a hard time remembering what you thought they knew. In this 6-week class, we focus on teaching you how to teach your dog good manners and behaviors using reward and engagement. We will focus on skills to help these dogs be successful by channeling this energy with impulse games, building focus, as well as appropriate greetings and basic manners.

This class is a continuation class from Reactive Rover designed to continue your journey in helping fix on-leash reactivity towards dogs when out and about in public and on walks. You will learn management skills, focus and attention techniques and other routines to help your dog be successful and walk more calmly when seeing other dogs. This is a one-hour practice session designed to help fix on-leash reactivity when out and about. It is geared towards reactivity to dogs but can also address reactivity towards people, things on wheels, etc. We will work one dog at a time taking turns, 2 turns each. If necessary, please bring something to cover your windows so that your dog cannot see dogs outside of your vehicle while waiting for your turn. For example, rolling blankets into your windows or keeping the dog in a covered crate. Please bring at least 2 cups of high value food rewards (canned chicken, cubed cheese, etc.).

Does walking your dog feel like a shoulder workout? Do you want a walk in the park to feel easy and fun?
In this 4-week class, you’ll learn how to teach your dog to walk on a loose leash. We will be covering fun games and practice scenarios to help teach your dog to walk nicely with you to prep for neighborhood walks, walking in a store, walking on a trail, and more!

The CGC Advanced class is designed for dogs and handlers who have successfully passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen test and are ready to build on that foundation. This course focuses on strengthening real world manners and reliability in more distracting and challenging environments. The course prepares teams for the AKC Community Canine test (CGCA), which will be offered at the conclusion of the class.
A one-hour practice to help prepare for the 10 exercises in the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Test. You may use treats and toys to help practice specific exercises or run through the test without treats/toys to identify where more training is needed. Your dog does not have to be at testing-level as this is not an official test. Canine Good Citizen Prep is designed to prepare you for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test and is ideal for anyone who wants to expand their skills, teach their dog advanced behaviors and build reliability of existing behaviors at a distance and around distractions.

This 4-week class will get your dog prepared for staying connected and focused during high-energy dog sports as well as the challenges of everyday life. It will help dogs that are having difficulty focusing because they are anxious or over excited about people, other dogs, or other things in the environment. This class also provides strategies for preventing dogs from becoming reactive due to anxiety or excitement.

This 6-week class focuses especially on polite people greetings, consistent loose leash walking, reliable recalls, and more advanced stays, along with other helpful daily life skills.

In this 6-week course, you and your dog will learn the skills necessary to volunteer to visit hospitals, special needs centers, schools, nursing homes, and other facilities. Therapy dogs need to have a calm and gentle disposition. They must be good around other dogs, calm when strangers pet them all over, not jump on others, walk on a leash without pulling, and not be startled by things such as strange noises, smells, and medical equipment.
This course provides specific instruction to prepare for testing with Alliance for Dogs (formerly TDI), which is an accredited therapy organization through the American Kennel Club (AKC).
✅ Prerequisite: An appropriate temperament and completion of a Companion Manners or similar class. Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test completion is a plus but not necessary.

Turn the everyday environment into an adventure! In this one-session intro to doggy parkour, you and your dog will learn how to safely interact with real life obstacles. This class focuses on confidence building, body awareness, and teamwork while encouraging your dog to explore the world in a thoughtful, controlled way.
Is your dog easily distracted by the world around them? Do they only pay attention when there is a treat in your hand? This is a one-hour workshop introducing a variety of exercises used to encourage attention and eye contact as well as getting rewards off of your person. Please bring a sturdy, chew-resistant container/treat pouch that closes completely along with at least 2 cups of food rewards (in the container/pouch) and a mat/bed for your dog to lay on.

If trimming your dog’s nails is like restraining a rabid coyote, or bringing your dog to the vet feels akin to entering a war zone, this workshop is for you. Topics include an introduction to the concept of cooperative care, how to desensitize your dog to nail trimmers, cones, etc., and recognizing and reducing distress. Curious if your dog might enjoy therapy work? This one-session class is designed to help you explore whether therapy work is a good match for both you and your dog. We’ll look at key traits like sociability, emotional resilience, and comfort with novel environments, while introducing simple exercises that mirror real therapy scenarios. You’ll gain insight into your dog’s temperament, learn what skills are needed for therapy work, and leave with clear next steps.
This is not an introductory class. This group class is for teams previously introduced to Barn Hunt that want to continue playing but currently have no interest in competition. This class is not recommended for those serious about competition. Rules regarding safe rat handling and potty accidents in the ring will be followed but otherwise rules will be loosely enforced.
In this 6-week class session, each team will rotate through a run order for 2 turns in the ring each week. Your turns in the ring will be tailored to your and your dog's specific needs and level to ensure they have fun and their hunts are successful.
Bring food and/or toy rewards for your dog, we can decide what to use, for your individual dog as motivation to get the best performance!

Absolutely no experience needed for this course. Scent Games is appropriate for all breeds and ages, including puppies as young as 6 months old! Nervous or anxious dogs will benefit from games that build independence and confidence, and hyperactive dogs will learn how to focus and work calmly.
The 6 week class is meant for teams planning to compete in dog sports. It helps build the foundation skills necessary to advance into agility, flyball, obedience, rally or other sports. The class covers effective toy play techniques and food reinforcement to build and keep engagement. The reinforcement strategies will encourage both working close to the handler and moving away from the handler. We will work on training techniques such as shaping, targeting and chaining, shadow handling/circle work, and working on both sides of the handler. We will work on advanced sit/down stays, on and off-leash heeling, and recall skills with distractions. The class also covers strategies for managing arousal, focus, and understanding how to redirect dogs away from distractions. Prerequisite is successful completion of one of our Manners classes or instructor approval.

This class is focused on building a strong foundation for a successful competing career in agility! We will work on verbals, impulse control, obstacle performance and sequencing to challenge your pups understanding.
This continuing 6 week class is our foundational agility class. You will learn about building flatwork handling for both dogs and their people. This 6-week class combines our Reactive Rover methods - using barriers and one-at-a-time training - to introduce the basics of agility. This 6-week class is an agility coursework class which follows our Intro to Agility class. Agility foundation work continues along with learning all other agility obstacles and handling maneuvers. This is a group class for teams training for competition at the Novice or Open level.
There will be a run order determined each week at random by the instructor, so you need to both be on time for class but also need to have your dog ready to enter the arena at the latest by the time the dog ahead of you exits the ring. Each team is guaranteed 2 turns in the ring, per class, some weeks they could get up to 3 turns.

In this one time class we will work on helping your dog learn how to offer you a clear identifiable indication to a rat. This may include; pawing, barking, biting, booping, sniffing and then looking at you or even sitting/laying down.
The goal with this class will be to praise and reward your dog for what they are currently offering and work on increase the duration of your dogs commitment and work to improve their indication through multiple repetitions so you can begin to feel more confident in making the call.
We will help you determine appropriate steps to take to make this happen. We will be meeting each dog where they are at currently and setting a clear goal to achieve by the end of the class. We can discuss ways to get more practice with building a reliable indication with exercises and games you can play at home.
Please make sure you bring a well fitting collar or harness and leash. At least 2 cups of high value treats and/or a toy and water.

Get some trial like practice in, there will be no formal instruction given during this practice time, though specific requests can be made like clusters, perimeter hides, threshold hides, rat/litter discrimination puzzles etc. Please either email me with those details ahead of time or come ready to tell me before practice starts so we can make a note of what specific requests you want to work on.
A run order will be made and teams will blind in groups (at minimum pairs) to get practice with the trial environment routine!
In between your runs everyone will be expected to help run the ring for others and this includes but is not limited to; inside rat wrangling, outside rat wrangling, running the box, scribing. Please make sure you include in your booking note what level you will be practicing at with each dog you are bringing so we can be prepared with the appropriate number of tubed rats and ideally set a run order that helps with an efficient flow!
Each dog must be registered seperately, each dog will get 2 runs which will have a maximum time limit of 4 minutes.
When your 4 minutes are up you will need to promptly leash up your dog and exit the ring. If leashing up takes up a significant amount of time your remaining turns will be adjusted accordingly to ensure each dog does not exceed the maximum ring time of 8 minutes.

This workshop is all about developing routines that support your dog’s mindset and drive. We’ll break down what your individual dog needs from the moment they step out of the car, through the blind process, into the ring and all the way back to the car after your run.
You’ll leave with a routine that strengthens your dog’s focus, confidence, and enthusiasm for the hunt.
We will begin with a review of Teams specific rules and answer questions. I will also share my professional opinion from observing numerous teams runs both at Regional and National events as well as handling my own dog on multiple teams with a variety of partners.
I will help you strategize and determine a game plan that will work best for your dogs to successfuly work together!
2026 National entries open on July 1st and our local Regional's entries open August 2nd. This is a great opportunity to figure out if your dogs will make a good team or not.

This workshop will focus on building understanding and value for tunnels. We will work on building improved compliance with your verbal command and increase distance with your sends. Rats will not be out for this workshop.
You need to bring the "goods" which means some VERY HIGH VALUE rewards, that may mean food and/or toy, depending on your dog. Bring options, variety so we can find what your dog says is worth tunneling for.

In this 6-week class, you’ll learn the initial foundation skills to enable your dog to discover and enhance their natural hunt drive, have fun, play, and build their curiosity and confidence. You and your dog will strengthen your bond utilizing their natural desire to hunt while having fun & burning energy, both mentally and physically. The primary goal is fun! Where dogs get to be dogs! Dogs work independently of each other and with their team handler.
This class is for any type of dog, regardless of breed, size or temperament, and is great for dogs that are shy or sensitive around other dogs, dogs with social or situational anxiety preventing them from joining typical training classes, dogs with hearing or sight impairments, or even those who are retired working dogs in need of a "job" to keep them busy and happy.

This 6-week class continues the foundational concepts learned in Intro to K9 Nose Work® and takes the game to a new and more fun level, increasing dogs' natural scenting abilities and their desire to hunt. It uses problem solving techniques and games by raising the height of the "hide" (treat), beginning interior, exterior and vehicle searches!

This 6-week class introduces the target oils, beginning with Birch followed by Anise and Clove. Utilizing the principles of K9 Nose Work® learned in the intro classes, it provides the foundation skills for competition, if desired, or just another level of fun for both the dog and handler. Teams will work box drills and indoor searches with an introduction to exterior searches on odor while continuing the fun and confidence building the dogs have so enjoyed.

This class is for dogs of all levels, from brand new teams to more experienced search teams. If you are brand new to the sports/game or your dog needs special attention such as shyness, reactivity or sensitivity, please contact the instructor first at [email protected].
In this class, we will focus on all the foundation skills needed to be successful in any of the scenting sport organizations (AKC, NACSW, USCSS, or UKC etc). Exercises and games will be adjusted to fit the experience levels of each team. No prerequisite is required to enroll in this class. Any dog of any age, breed and size can enjoy a good sniffing game.
Please note that only one dog will be working at a time, so dogs that are not currently working will be left in your car until their turn. This class will be repeated to fine tune a dog's skills in all areas.
Get some practice in before your next trials or come learn foundation skills for the sport! Some limited feedback and advice are provided. Every team will get at least two run-throughs, more if time allows. A Nov/Int course will be built alongside an Adv/Exc course, with a few optional Masters signs. You do not need to be working full courses; during your turn, work on whatever you'd like to.

This class is perfect for a team just starting out in disc (so tell your friends!), or for anyone wanting to improve their existing T&F skills (e.g. slow recall, dropping early, not catching the disc). You should bring any items needed to keep your dog comfortable and safe while waiting in the car during the lecture portion of the workshop as well as between their runs. You are welcome to bring your own chair for comfort and are encouraged to bring a pen and paper to take notes as well as items the handler will need to scent for our Lost Item Recovery search.
If you want to run more than one dog for each element contact me for registration link, one working spot gets you one run in Lost Item, Shed Dog, Trailing & Locating and Urban Locating. You can also split your runs for each element between your dogs if you wish.
For Lost Item please bring the following three items in a gallon zip lock bag or similar sized sealed container with your dogs name on it.
1. A set of keys, 3-5 with or without a Keychain or fob attached
2. A wallet, small to medium in size, cloth or leather
3. Soft clothing item, small in size, like a glove or sock or something similar.

Assessment and Bodywork for your pet with Beth Mantis - 1 hour appointments $135.00
Beth uses bio-mechanical correction, facia release, and visceral and lymphatic work to restore optimal healthy function. She is a licensed LMT for humans, dogs and horses, but uses Animal Osteopathic Techniques - so treating the whole body.
