Puppy Kindergarten - for dogs 8-16 weeks old at the start of class $140.00
This 4-week class is ideal for all young puppies. The focus will be on socialization and exploring new experiences, engagement, relationship building, and basic life skills. You’ll learn practical solutions for the challenges of puppyhood, including how to handle puppy biting and mouthiness, crate training and confinement, potty training, problem prevention, and other puppy-related issues. Puppies will be working primarily with their owners on all the fun activities. There may be opportunities for carefully supervised puppy interaction. We introduce some basic obedience skills in this class but most skills are covered on our Manners classes, which we recommend taking concurrently or shortly after completing this series.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® Program :: 8–24 Weeks Old $210.00
This 6-week is designed to prepare you for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® test. Upon passing the test, you’ll get an application to send to AKC for enrollment in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® Program. All dogs are welcome to participate in the program including purebreds and mixed breeds.
In this class you and your pup will learn the foundational behaviors leading toward the Canine Good Citizen® test including sit, down, recalls, tolerance of handling, tolerance of strangers and more.

This is our foundational manners course for puppies and dogs of all ages. It’s a 6-week class focused on teaching you how to teach your dog good manners and behaviors using reward and engagement. A great class for dogs of all ages—from puppies to adolescent dogs and even older dogs that just need a refresher—it is also perfect for dogs that are settling into a new home that could use a reminder on their manners, or that may not have had any previous training.
Topics will include: good manners, appropriate greetings, leash walking, and coming when called. We’ll work on increasing duration, distance, and distraction.

This is a 6-week beginning manners class for dogs that plan to pursue dog sports and activities such as agility, rally, nose work, field work, or barn hunt. With an emphasis on engagement, focus, and learning to work enthusiastically with their handler, this class is great for dogs of all ages—from puppies to adolescent dogs, or even older dogs.
Topics will include foundation sport skills such as learning how to work at the handler’s side, an introduction to using targets and stations, using toy play and food as a reward, as well as all the basics like sit, down, stay, and coming when called.

This is a basic manners class for dogs that are overly friendly, bouncy, and bursting with energy—and maybe impulsive or having a hard time remembering what you thought they knew. In this 6-week class, we focus on teaching you how to teach your dog good manners and behaviors using reward and engagement. We will focus on skills to help these dogs be successful by channeling this energy with impulse games, building focus, as well as appropriate greetings and basic manners.

The 6 week class is meant for teams planning to compete in dog sports. It helps build the foundation skills necessary to advance into agility, flyball, obedience, rally or other sports. The class covers effective toy play techniques and food reinforcement to build and keep engagement. The reinforcement strategies will encourage both working close to the handler and moving away from the handler. We will work on training techniques such as shaping, targeting and chaining, shadow handling/circle work, and working on both sides of the handler. We will work on advanced sit/down stays, on and off-leash heeling, and recall skills with distractions. The class also covers strategies for managing arousal, focus, and understanding how to redirect dogs away from distractions. Prerequisite is successful completion of one of our Manners classes or instructor approval.
This 1-hour private lesson is meant as a follow-on to the private behavior initial assessment. Working from your behavior plan created during your initial assessment, your instructor will help you understand the most effective and practical ways to implement each step and any additional follow-up or troubleshooting as needed. In-home lessons may be possible upon request for an additional charge.
Private Behavior Lesson - Initial Assessment and Plan $250.00
This 1.5 hour private lesson is for situations where your dog's behavior is impacting your (and their) quality of life. This initial assessment will include working with our certified dog behavior consultant (CBCC-KA). They can help address issues like separation anxiety, resource guarding, fearful behaviors, over-excitement, barking, walking on-leash, jumping on people and more. Post-lesson you will receive a written behavior plan tailored to the needs of your individual household. This lesson is most effective if followed with a Follow-up lesson to help work on logistics for implementing you behavior plan.
Arranging this as an in-home lesson is possible upon request.

This is a one-hour practice session designed to help fix on-leash reactivity when out and about. It is geared towards reactivity to dogs but can also address reactivity towards people, things on wheels, etc. We will work one dog at a time taking turns, 2 turns each. If necessary, please bring something to cover your windows so that your dog cannot see dogs outside of your vehicle while waiting for your turn. For example, rolling blankets into your windows or keeping the dog in a covered crate. Please bring at least 2 cups of high value food rewards (canned chicken, cubed cheese, etc.).

The Canine Good Citizen Test is AKC's program for testing your dog's ability to be a good member of society. This 10-item test is performed and scored based on AKC's criterion in order to receive the CGC title.
Canine Good Citizen Prep is designed to prepare you for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test and is ideal for anyone who wants to expand their skills, teach their dog advanced behaviors and build reliability of existing behaviors at a distance and around distractions.

This 4-week class will get your dog prepared for staying connected and focused during high-energy dog sports as well as the challenges of everyday life. It will help dogs that are having difficulty focusing because they are anxious or over excited about people, other dogs, or other things in the environment. This class also provides strategies for preventing dogs from becoming reactive due to anxiety or excitement.

This 6-week class focuses especially on polite people greetings, consistent loose leash walking, reliable recalls, and more advanced stays, along with other helpful daily life skills.

In this 6-week course, you and your dog will learn the skills necessary to volunteer to visit hospitals, special needs centers, schools, nursing homes, and other facilities. Therapy dogs need to have a calm and gentle disposition. They must be good around other dogs, calm when strangers pet them all over, not jump on others, walk on a leash without pulling, and not be startled by things such as strange noises, smells, and medical equipment.
This course provides specific instruction to prepare for testing with Alliance for Dogs (formerly TDI), which is an accredited therapy organization through the American Kennel Club (AKC).
✅ Prerequisite: An appropriate temperament and completion of a Companion Manners or similar class. Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test completion is a plus but not necessary.
Need an overview or refresher of foundation skills? This one-hour workshop covers basics of attention, settling, leash manners, and recalls. Puppies welcome. This is a one-hour workshop introducing a variety of exercises used to encourage attention and eye contact as well as getting rewards off of your person. Please bring a sturdy, chew-resistant container/treat pouch that closes completely along with at least 2 cups of food rewards (in the container/pouch) and a mat/bed for your dog to lay on.

If trimming your dog’s nails is like restraining a rabid coyote, or bringing your dog to the vet feels akin to entering a war zone, this workshop is for you. Topics include an introduction to the concept of cooperative care, how to desensitize your dog to nail trimmers, cones, etc., and recognizing and reducing distress. This is a 6-week continuing class focused on skills, drills, and courses for teams to be successful in all agility venues such as AKC, USDAA, UKI, CPE, NADAC and ASCA. This continuing 6 week class is our foundational agility class. You will learn about building flatwork handling for both dogs and their people. In this 6-week course, you and your dog will be introduced to jumps, tunnels, contact obstacles and the weave poles. Learn how to change sides and even run a short course! Follow this class with our Agility for Fun class to become more proficient and learn more advanced handling. If you decide you'd like to compete you can move into our 'competition' track classes. Your dog must be able to work with you around other dogs.

Introduction to Barn Hunt Private Lesson- 25 minute $55.00
This is a 25 minute private lesson for handlers with a dog brand new to Barn Hunt. You and your dog will get an introduction to the rats (safely in PVC tubes) and the environment of a Barn Hunt. The instructor will help assess your dog’s interest and help them understand the concepts of the sport and competitions.

Prerequisite: Dogs must be familiar with Barn Hunt meaning they have had an Introduction here at Run Wild or elsewhere, are already competing, OR you get instructor permission)

In this 4-week class session, each team will rotate through a run order for 2 turns in the ring each week. Your turns in the ring will be tailored to your teams specific needs and level. Group classes are reserved for dogs currently competing in Barn Hunt Trials or that have previously completed an Introduction to Barn Hunt Lesson.
Bring rewards for your dog, we can decide what to use when to get the best performance! Please park along the backside of Zanee Arena near the Barn Hunt rings and potty your dog upon arrival. A $25 per incident fee will be assessed for all accidents in the ring, so you should plan on taking your dog on a short potty walk before each turn in the ring to develop good habits and minimize the chance of eliminating in the ring.
In this 6-week class, you’ll learn the initial foundation skills to enable your dog to discover and enhance their natural hunt drive, have fun, play, and build their curiosity and confidence. You and your dog will strengthen your bond utilizing their natural desire to hunt while having fun & burning energy, both mentally and physically. The primary goal is fun! Where dogs get to be dogs! Dogs work independently of each other and with their team handler.
This class is for any type of dog, regardless of breed, size or temperament, and is great for dogs that are shy or sensitive around other dogs, dogs with social or situational anxiety preventing them from joining typical training classes, dogs with hearing or sight impairments, or even those who are retired working dogs in need of a "job" to keep them busy and happy.

This 6-week class continues the foundational concepts learned in Intro to K9 Nose Work® and takes the game to a new and more fun level, increasing dogs' natural scenting abilities and their desire to hunt. It uses problem solving techniques and games by raising the height of the "hide" (treat), beginning interior, exterior and vehicle searches!
✅ Prerequisite: Introduction to Nose Work® or instructor approval.
This 6-week class introduces the target oils, beginning with Birch followed by Anise and Clove. Utilizing the principles of K9 Nose Work® learned in the intro classes, it provides the foundation skills for competition, if desired, or just another level of fun for both the dog and handler. Teams will work box drills and indoor searches with an introduction to exterior searches on odor while continuing the fun and confidence building the dogs have so enjoyed.

This class is for dogs of all levels, from brand new teams to more experienced search teams. If you are brand new to the sports/game or your dog needs special attention such as shyness, reactivity or sensitivity, please contact the instructor first at Training@runwilddogsports.com.
In this class, we will focus on all the foundation skills needed to be successful in any of the scenting sport organizations (AKC, NACSW, USCSS, or UKC etc). Exercises and games will be adjusted to fit the experience levels of each team. No prerequisite is required to enroll in this class. Any dog of any age, breed and size can enjoy a good sniffing game.
Please note that only one dog will be working at a time, so dogs that are not currently working will be left in your car until their turn. This class will be repeated to fine tune a dog's skills in all areas.
Get some practice in before your next trials or come learn foundation skills for the sport! Some limited feedback and advice are provided. Every team will get at least two run-throughs, more if time allows. A Nov/Int course will be built alongside an Adv/Exc course, with a few optional Masters signs. You do not need to be working full courses; during your turn, work on whatever you'd like to.
Prerequisite: Your dog can focus in a class setting. Some familiarity with Rally and the exercises is helpful.

This continuing 6-week course will cover the exercises found in AKC’s Intermediate and Advanced level Rally classes and prepare the team for competition at that level. Teams will progress to Off-Leash heeling as they are ready.

This continuing 6-week class will focus on the core skills of heeling, cueing, and maintaining engagement with your dog and will prepare you for Novice level competition challenges. You will learn standard obedience skills including turns, sit, down, stand, and stays in the context of the Novice competition-level Rally exercises. All exercises are performed on-leash.
🚫 Reactive dogs (dogs that aggressively bark, lunge, or growl at people or dogs) are not eligible for this class, but may be suitable for Reactive Rover. Please contact us for recommendations.

In this continuing 6-week course, you will progress through the excellent rally skills including off-leash heeling, bypassing distractions, and tricks like backing up, jumps, and spins. AKC Masters exercises will be mixed in, introducing more freestyle-like tricks.

This class will be taught by members of the Cascade Comets Flyball Club. Get started in the exciting sport of flyball with your dog! This class focuses on: Recalls Over Jumps: Training your dog to return enthusiastically while clearing jumps. Flyball Box Skills: Teaching your dog to retrieve the ball from the flyball box confidently. Dog Passing: Building your dog's ability to pass other dogs during relay runs. Handler and Dog Fundamentals: Handlers learn timing and communication while dogs build skills and confidence. Safety is our top priority, and we use positive, reward-based methods to ensure a fun and supportive experience. It’s helpful if dogs like tennis balls. Must be at least one year old, and not be aggressive. No prior experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm, treats, or toys, and let’s begin the adventure!
In this class you will learn foundation flatwork skills, basic throws and accuracy drills, a killer retrieve to hand, super speedy disc drops and recalls, and how to teach your dog to safely catch both rollers and flying discs. By the end of the 6-weeks teams will be ready to compete in Toss & Fetch league.
This class is perfect for a team just starting out in disc (so tell your friends!), or for anyone wanting to improve their existing T&F skills (e.g. slow recall, dropping early, not catching the disc). This class is geared towards dogs or puppies that already have a desire to chase/grab/play with toys. Puppies are welcome!

We will begin the workshop (without dogs) with approximately 1 hour of classroom style lecture in the Kirbee Academy(Training Barn) reviewing the different classes NASDA offers as well as the rules including how runs are scored, earning titles and more.
We will then take a short break allowing you to potty yourselves and your dogs before each working spot team will get the chance to do a mock trial run in each class.
After working the dogs we will wrap up with any details that we couldn't cover at the beginning of the workshop and answer any other questions you may have.
You should bring any items needed to keep your dog comfortable and safe while waiting in the car during the lecture portion of the workshop as well as between their runs. You are welcome to bring your own chair for comfort and are encouraged to bring a pen and paper to take notes as well as items the handler will need to scent for our Lost Item Recovery search.
If you want to run more than one dog for each element contact me for registration link, one working spot gets you one run in Lost Item, Shed Dog, Trailing & Locating and Urban Locating. You can split your runs for each element between your dogs how you wish.
For Lost Item please bring the following three items in a gallon zip lock bag or similar sized sealed container with your dogs name on it.
1. A set of keys, 3-5 with or without a Keychain or fob attached
2. A wallet, small to medium in size, cloth or leather
3. Soft clothing item, small in size, like a glove or sock or something similar.

We love a motivated and attentive/thinking dog! The best way to keep them that way, is for us to be prepared and ready to train and reward the behaviors we want. Having a plan ie: setting goals for your training session, is important. The dog will need less repetitions, therefor, less wear and tear both mentally and physically. With more engagement and a higher rate of reinforcement we keep our dogs happy, and they will give us their all. First, we have to identify why start lines are critically important for both you and the dog.
