This 4-week class is ideal for all young puppies. The focus will be on socialization and exploring new experiences, engagement, relationship building, and basic life skills. You’ll learn practical solutions for the challenges of puppyhood, including how to handle puppy biting and mouthiness, crate training and confinement, potty training, problem prevention, and other puppy-related issues. Puppies will be working primarily with their owners on all the fun activities. There may be opportunities for carefully supervised puppy interaction. We introduce some basic obedience skills in this class but most skills are covered on our Manners classes, which we recommend taking concurrently or shortly after completing this series.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® Program :: 8–24 Weeks Old $210.00
This 6-week is designed to prepare you for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® test. Upon passing the test, you’ll get an application to send to AKC for enrollment in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® Program. All dogs are welcome to participate in the program including purebreds and mixed breeds.
In this class you and your pup will learn the foundational behaviors leading toward the Canine Good Citizen® test including sit, down, recalls, tolerance of handling, tolerance of strangers and more.

This is our foundational manners course for puppies and dogs of all ages. It’s a 6-week class focused on teaching you how to teach your dog good manners and behaviors using reward and engagement. A great class for dogs of all ages—from puppies to adolescent dogs and even older dogs that just need a refresher—it is also perfect for dogs that are settling into a new home that could use a reminder on their manners, or that may not have had any previous training.
Topics will include: good manners, appropriate greetings, leash walking, and coming when called. We’ll work on increasing duration, distance, and distraction.

This is a 6-week beginning manners class for dogs that plan to pursue dog sports and activities such as agility, rally, nose work, field work, or barn hunt. With an emphasis on engagement, focus, and learning to work enthusiastically with their handler, this class is great for dogs of all ages—from puppies to adolescent dogs, or even older dogs.
Topics will include foundation sport skills such as learning how to work at the handler’s side, an introduction to using targets and stations, using toy play and food as a reward, as well as all the basics like sit, down, stay, and coming when called.

This is a basic manners class for dogs that are overly friendly, bouncy, and bursting with energy—and maybe impulsive or having a hard time remembering what you thought they knew. In this 6-week class, we focus on teaching you how to teach your dog good manners and behaviors using reward and engagement. We will focus on skills to help these dogs be successful by channeling this energy with impulse games, building focus, as well as appropriate greetings and basic manners.

The 6 week Sports Prep class helps build the foundation skills necessary to advance into agility, flyball, obedience, rally or other dog sports. The class covers effective toy play techniques and food reinforcement to build and keep engagement. The reinforcement strategies will encourage both working close to the handler and moving away from the handler. We will work on training techniques such as shaping, targeting and chaining, shadow handling/circle work, and working on both sides of the handler. We will work on advanced sit/down stays, on and off-leash heeling, and recall skills with distractions. The class also covers strategies for managing arousal, focus, and understanding how to redirect dogs away from distractions. Prerequisite is successful completion of one of our Manners classes or instructor approval.
This is a one-hour practice session designed to help fix on-leash reactivity when out and about. It is geared towards reactivity to dogs but can also address reactivity towards people, things on wheels, etc. We will work one dog at a time taking turns, 2 turns each. If necessary, please bring something to cover your windows so that your dog cannot see dogs outside of your vehicle while waiting for your turn. For example, rolling blankets into your windows or keeping the dog in a covered crate. Please bring at least 2 cups of high value food rewards (canned chicken, cubed cheese, etc.).

In this 4-week class we will be going over fun games and exercises to help your dog learn to listen in controlled training scenarios as well as real life situations.

This 6-week class is designed to help fix on-leash reactivity towards dogs when out and about in public and on walks. You will also learn to read dog body language, techniques for relaxation, and helping your dog perceive other dogs as something positive through counterconditioning and desensitization.
This semi-private class is limited to just four (4) dogs. The first class is lecture-only, so NO DOGS during the first class.

This class is a continuation class from Reactive Rover designed to continue your journey in helping fix on-leash reactivity towards dogs when out and about in public and on walks. You will also learn to read dog body language, techniques for relaxation, and helping your dog perceive other dogs as something positive through counterconditioning and desensitization. In this 4-week class, you’ll learn how to teach your dog to walk on a loose leash. We will be covering fun games and practice scenarios to help teach your dog to walk nicely with you to prep for neighborhood walks, walking in a store, walking on a trail, and more!

Help your dog turn stress into confidence and distraction into focus!
This 4-week class will get your dog prepared for staying connected and focused during high-energy dog sports as well as the challenges of everyday life. It will help dogs that are having difficulty focusing because they are anxious or over excited about people, other dogs, or other things in the environment. This class also provides strategies for preventing dogs from becoming reactive due to anxiety or excitement.

In this 6-week course, you and your dog will learn the skills necessary to volunteer to visit hospitals, special needs centers, schools, nursing homes, and other facilities. Therapy dogs need to have a calm and gentle disposition. They must be good around other dogs, calm when strangers pet them all over, not jump on others, walk on a leash without pulling, and not be startled by things such as strange noises, smells, and medical equipment.
This course provides specific instruction to prepare for testing with Alliance for Dogs (formerly TDI), which is an accredited therapy organization through the American Kennel Club (AKC).
✅ Prerequisite: An appropriate temperament and completion of a Companion Manners or similar class. Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test completion is a plus but not necessary.

This is a one-hour workshop introducing a variety of exercises used to encourage attention and eye contact as well as getting rewards off of your person. Please bring a sturdy, chew-resistant container/treat pouch that closes completely along with at least 2 cups of food rewards (in the container/pouch) and a mat/bed for your dog to lay on.

If trimming your dog’s nails is like restraining a rabid coyote, or bringing your dog to the vet feels akin to entering a war zone, this workshop is for you. Absolutely no experience needed for this course. Scent Games is appropriate for all breeds and ages, including puppies as young as 6 months old! Nervous or anxious dogs will benefit from games that build independence and confidence, and hyperactive dogs will learn how to focus and work calmly.

Do you have a dog that will find rats but not 'tell' you about them? We call that cateloging and there are a few common reasons dogs do it...We will help you determine why your dog is doing this and work on ways to eliminate it.
Minimum 4 dogs registered to hold the workshop.
Each dog will get a minimum of 15 minutes working time in the ring.
In this workshop we will come up with a plan for when the best time to ask your dog to tunnel during a run is as well as help you determine what reward will give you consistent compliance to do the tunnel when asked the first time!
We will be combining tunnel work with hunting rats because we feel that providing you a real trial like scenerio to troubleshoot will produce the best results!
Minimum 4 dogs registered to hold the workshop.
Each dog will get a minimum of 15 minutes working time in the ring.
In this 4-week class session, each team will rotate through a run order for 2 turns in the ring each week. Your turns in the ring will be tailored to your teams specific needs and level. Group classes are reserved for dogs currently competing in Barn Hunt Trials or that have previously completed an Introduction to Barn Hunt Lesson.
Bring rewards for your dog, we can decide what to use when to get the best performance! Please park along the backside of Zanee Arena near the Barn Hunt rings and potty your dog upon arrival. A $25 per incident fee will be assessed for all accidents in the ring, so you should plan on taking your dog on a short potty walk before each turn in the ring to develop good habits and minimize the chance of eliminating in the ring.
In this 6-week class, you’ll learn the initial foundation skills to enable your dog to discover and enhance their natural hunt drive, have fun, play, and build their curiosity and confidence. You and your dog will strengthen your bond utilizing their natural desire to hunt while having fun & burning energy, both mentally and physically. The primary goal is fun! Where dogs get to be dogs! Dogs work independently of each other and with their team handler.
This class is for any type of dog, regardless of breed, size or temperament, and is great for dogs that are shy or sensitive around other dogs, dogs with social or situational anxiety preventing them from joining typical training classes, dogs with hearing or sight impairments, or even those who are retired working dogs in need of a "job" to keep them busy and happy.

This 6-week class continues the foundational concepts learned in Intro to K9 Nose Work® and takes the game to a new and more fun level, increasing dogs' natural scenting abilities and their desire to hunt. It uses problem solving techniques and games by raising the height of the "hide" (treat), beginning interior, exterior and vehicle searches!

This 6-week class introduces the target oils, beginning with Birch followed by Anise and Clove. Utilizing the principles of K9 Nose Work® learned in the intro classes, it provides the foundation skills for competition, if desired, or just another level of fun for both the dog and handler. Teams will work box drills and indoor searches with an introduction to exterior searches on odor while continuing the fun and confidence building the dogs have so enjoyed.

In this 6-week class specific exercises are designed to improve handler skills including leash handling, spatial considerations and reading your dog's changes of behavior. Improve odor obedience, efficiency in working odor puzzles in a variety of elements (interiors, exteriors, containers and/or vehicles. Teams in this class will begin to prepare for their NW1.

In this 6-week class, specific exercises are designed to improve handler skills including leash handling, search patterns and spatial considerations and reading your dog's body language. Also, work on exercises for your dog to improve odor obedience, efficiency in working scent cones, sourcing odor with accessible and inaccessible hides, low and elevated hides as well as searching multiple hide placements in all 4 elements.

In this 6-week class dogs and their handlers are introduced to vehicle searches and exterior searches using the essential oil Birch. Dogs will learn how to search a vehicle and conduct exterior searches as well as the way odor moves with the wind and on certain materials. Competition procedures will also be discussed for those who wish to continue in this amazing new urban sport!

Get some practice in before your next trials or come learn foundation skills for the sport! Some limited feedback and advice are provided. Every team will get at least two run-throughs, more if time allows. A Nov/Int course will be built alongside an Adv/Exc course, with a few optional Masters signs. You do not need to be working full courses; during your turn, work on whatever you'd like to.

This continuing 6-week class will focus on the core skills of heeling, cueing, and maintaining engagement with your dog and will prepare you for Novice level competition challenges. You will learn standard obedience skills including turns, sit, down, stand, and stays in the context of the Novice competition-level Rally exercises. All exercises are performed on-leash.

In this class you will learn foundation flatwork skills, basic throws and accuracy drills, a killer retrieve to hand, super speedy disc drops and recalls, and how to teach your dog to safely catch both rollers and flying discs. By the end of the 6-weeks teams will be ready to compete in Toss & Fetch league.
This class is perfect for a team just starting out in disc (so tell your friends!), or for anyone wanting to improve their existing T&F skills (e.g. slow recall, dropping early, not catching the disc). This class is geared towards dogs or puppies that already have a desire to chase/grab/play with toys. Puppies are welcome!

We will begin the workshop without dogs for 1.5- 2 hours of lecture reviewing the different classes NASDA offers as well as the rules including how runs are scored, earning titles and more. We will then take a 30 minute break before each working spot team will get the chance to do a mock trial run in each class.
You should bring any items needed to keep your dog comfortable and safe while waiting in the car during the lecture portion of the workshop as well as between their runs. You are welcome to bring your own chair for comfort and are encouraged to bring a pen and paper to take notes as well as items the handler will need to scent for our Lost Item Recovery search. Please bring the following three items in a gallon zip lock bag or similar sized sealed container with your dogs name on it. If you register multiple dogs you can use the same items, please list all dog names on the bag.
1. A set of keys, 3-5 with or without a Keychain or fob attached
2. A wallet, small to medium in size, cloth or leather
3. Soft clothing item, small in size, like a glove or sock or something similar.

This 2.5hr workshop will focus on foundation skills and sequencing appropriate for puppies 4 months to 1 year old. Younger puppies will learn important "pre-agility" skills like restrained recalls, start line stays, body awareness exercises, confidence with novelty, engagement, reinforcement skills, forward drive, and shadow handling. Older puppies will work with jumps and tunnels to practice forward extension, collection, commitment, verbal discriminations, and handling basics. The workshop material will be tailored to each team's level, so older dogs that need some work on their foundations are welcome too!
This 2.5hr workshop is for all of the dogs that struggle with focus or engagement during training or competitions. Whether your dog spins up and out of control or gets sniffy and shutdown.... there are skills we can teach our dogs so that they are better about "opting in" to training. If your problem is that your dog is perfect in training but can't bring the same performance to a competition, you will learn how to fade reinforcement from your body, teach value for remote rewards, and develop a ring routine that will help minimize the stress and confusion of the competition environment for your dog. This workshop is appropriate for dogs of all ages, including puppies as young as 4 months old! Start them off right, instead of waiting to fix problems once they arise!
This 2.5hr workshop will cover how to teach a fast, confident, and reliable stopped contact behavior (both 2on-2off or 4on) as well as how to troubleshoot problems you may be having with your current behavior. The workshop material will be tailored to each individual team so dogs just starting out, older retrains, or those just looking for drills to strengthen and proof their existing stopped contact behavior are welcome!
This 2.5hr workshop will focus on short sequences to test skills common in UKI and on AKC ISC courses. Novice to Masters level are welcome and all equipment will be used. An understanding of backsides and threadles, and good obstacle independence is recommended, but teams can also focus on teaching or troubleshooting whatever skills they need help with most!

Speed is an important factor when running agility! This session will help handlers differentiate between slower lines and faster lines. It will teach participants to understand how to make the fastest most efficient line for their dog and why. In this session all equipment could be used. This session is ideal for dogs who are sequencing 5-10 obstacles smoothly and independently.
This session is all about young dogs! Karen will work on commonly needed skills for a successful competing career in any venue! She will help teams with skill building with each dog.
