The Wise Dog

This program is intended for puppies that come directly from the breeder before joining their families 2-4 weeks later. The following questions are intended to give the trainer a better idea of your puppy's environment/family's lifestyle in order to personalize your puppy's training experience as much as possible.

This Statement of Service outlines the agreement between Client, as indicated in Line 1 [Client] and The Wise Dog CO LLC [Trainer] regarding the provision of puppy training services for Client's dog as indicated in Line 4, [puppy] as described below.

Scope of Services

The Service Provider agrees to deliver the following service(s)/program to the Client:

Puppy Pre-K Train and Stay

Includes:

Cared for and nurtured in a safe environment by a competent trainer.
Safe Socialization that benefits puppy in the community and within the home with exposure to as many new experiences as safely possible
Regular updates and communication about the puppy's progress via text message
Veterinary care as needed and to include veterinarian recommended vaccines and preventatives that uphold the breeder's contract
Coordination of transportation and logistics with flight nanny and Client (if applicable)

Qualified Trainers:

The puppy will be trained by a qualified trainer who adheres to positive reinforcement training methods and the LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) training philosophy.
The Trainer holds up to date business insurance coverage.
The trainer has been vetted by and deemed competent by Prep Your Pup Training Academy.

Communication

The Wise Dog will update Client on the puppy's progress at least three times a week
via text, email or phone calls.
During the first week of training the puppy will experience so many “firsts” so communication may occur more often during this stage.
The Trainer will strive to answer any questions or inquiries the Family has while their puppy is in training, M-F from 10am to 4pm. The best way to contact Trainer is via text message.

Post Training Guidelines:

The Wise Dog offers a 60 minute "go home" private lesson to be held at Client's address on the last day of training. A $100 travel fee will be invoiced to Client if Client's new address is 71 miles or more from Trainer's location, 740 Whispering Oak Drive, Castle Rock, CO 80104
Client agrees to read and understand any and all written/recorded training recommendations provided by TRAINER
A progress report, training guidelines, socialization checklist, FAQ and potty training daily rhythm schedule are included in the "go home" lesson.
Six months of virtual support for the skills learned at training via phone, text, email and video conferencing is included in the Puppy Pre-K program.
Additional training programs are available to support Client in teaching new skills and/or eliminating behaviors that develop after leaving trainer's home at the following special pricing for established clients:
- 4 lessons at trainer's location in Castle Rock $250
- 4 lessons at client's home within 70 miles of Castle Rock $450
- 1 lesson at client's home $125
- Boarding at trainer's location $60/night
- Boarding + daily training lesson at trainer's location $100/night

Training Expectations

Puppy will learn the following skills during the Puppy Pre-K Train and Stay:

Week One [Includes 5 training lessons, 7 days of care and lifestyle training]:
- Calm in crate
- Calm in puppy pen
- Use bathroom in designated spot outside
- Sit for attention/calm greetings (no jumping)
- Exposure to at least five different environments, noises and/or people (socialization goals)
- "Out" Command and "Take It" Command
Week Two [Includes 10 training lessons and up to 14 days of care and lifestyle training]:
- Follow human while on longline leash
- Pressure sit (nonverbal sit)
- Recall to human ("Come" Command)
- Calm when tethered in view of human
- Exposure to at least five socialization goals
Week Three: [Includes 15 training lessons and up to 21 days of care and lifestyle training]
- Calm walk on leash (no pulling)
- Refocus attention on trainer when distracted in public ("Leave It" command)
- Place command (stay and calm until released)
- Exposure to at least five additional socialization goals (15 total)
Week Four: [Includes 20 training lessons and up to 28 days of care and lifestyle training]
- Continue to practice skills learned in Weeks 1-3 now with distractions
- Exposure to at least five additional socialization goals (20 in total)
- Sleep 8+ hours in the crate overnight

Veterinary Care
If requested in writing by Client, Trainer will ensure Puppy receives a wellness check, fecal test, and necessary vaccinations while in the care of Trainer.

The Client will be responsible for reimbursing Trainer for all veterinary care expenses accrued during Puppy's stay as outlined in the final invoice to be paid in full by the scheduled "go home" private lesson.

Care and Nurturing

Puppy will be fed the recommend amount of high-quality food provided by Client daily
Puppy will have access to fresh, clean drinking water during the day
Puppy's environment will be disinfected on a daily basis to reduce the risk of transmitting parasites and viruses.
The puppy will be well cared for and nurtured in a clean, climate-controlled and safe environment.
The trainer will provide loving care and ensure the puppy’s well-being.

Payment Terms
The Client agrees to pay Trainer in full on or before the date that training is scheduled to begin [PAYMENT DUE DATE]. Trainer will consider issuing a payment plan and/or other arrangements on a case by case basis. All case by case arrangements must be made, agreed upon by both parties and documented in writing at least 24 hours before training drop date/time. A $100 late fee will be applied for every day payment is not paid past the PAYMENT DUE DATE. Payment can be made through Venmo, Zelle, Cash, Check or Invoice sent via Stripe/BusyPaws. Client is responsible for paying any and all processing fees and late fees.

Transportation of Puppy to Training

Breeder, Trainer, Transportation Nanny (if applicable) and Client will coordinate the transportation of Puppy to and from the training location. Trainer will travel up to 70 miles at no additional cost. $150 Travel Fee will be applied for every 70 miles Trainer travels to pick up/drop off puppy.
