About Day School
Day school is not your average "day care." A dog day care typically has an extended day of free play, minimally trained staff and a high dog to human ratio. In our experience as trainers, we have found these long days and large play groups increase the risk of fighting between dogs, can increase stress levels and leave dogs over aroused... the exact opposite of what we want to accomplish for our pups.
Where Sit Happens Day School is socialization, training and time to learn to settle all in one! During day school you can expect:
- Supervision by a certified trainer
- Small, carefully matched play groups of 4-6 dogs (max 3:1 dog to staff ratio)
- Group training time
- Individual training time
- Outdoor walks to enforce potty training, allow for sniffing and decompression
- Enrichment activities
- Relaxation time
Day School is appropriate for dogs who are:
- Friendly toward humans and other dogs
- Up to date on all age appropriate vaccinations
- Have proof of a clean fecal test from within the last 6 months
- Pre-approved via our training programs or pass evaluation
Day School is not intended to replace classes and/or working with your dog at home. Day School is an excellent supplement and very physically and mentally enriching but your dog working with you and your family is critical to your ongoing success.
