Puppy Start Right Preschool (8-16 weeks)
The 3- class series for Puppies between 8 and 16 weeks of age on the...The 3- class series for Puppies between 8 and 16 weeks of age on the Start Date. These classes open-enrollment with flexible scheduling options so you can squeeze in as much socialization and training as possible while your puppy is young. This is a socialization class with weekly practice homework and online video resources. The class is ongoing, so you can begin as soon as your puppy can. The class is for three consecutive classes, beginning with your first class.
The class focuses on building a solid foundation for a well-socialized adult dog who adjusts well to changes and new experiences. We cover potty training, play biting/mouthing, and chewing. To help your puppy handle vet visits quickly as an adult, we work each week on handling exercises with mock vet examinations and teach your puppy how to get on and off the scale willingly. We practice exercises that prevent behavioral problems such as resource guarding, separation anxiety, restraint and handling issues, etc. We also start laying a foundation for obedience behaviors; we teach sit, down, come, leave it, walking on a leash, drop it, and jumping up.
Early puppyhood is a critical time for socialization and learning. Puppy class is the single most important thing you can do to help your puppy reach his full potential.
The trainer must witness your puppy's vaccination records to start the first day of class.
