This class focuses on realistically applying obedience skills, engagement, and overall life skills in increasingly challenging environments while working alongside other training teams with similar goals. Over 8 weeks, participants will travel to a variety of locations throughout southeastern Connecticut to practice reliability around distractions, improve handler communication, and build confidence in new settings. Rather than teaching basic cues, Summer School 201 emphasizes putting those skills into action through structured exercises and real-life scenarios. We will visit parks, hiking trails, outdoor shopping areas, waterfront locations, and pet-friendly businesses such as Bluff Point State Park, Washington Park, Mystic Village, Poquonnock Plains Park, Sheep Farm, Mystic River Park, Haley Farm, and Tractor Supply. Location details for the following week's class will be provided after each session. Summer School 201 is best suited for dogs that can already work around other dogs and people, have a working understanding of basic obedience cues, and are ready to take their training beyond the classroom and into everyday life.
